Good lord. Why did we get a sequel to Joe Dirt? And for those who are like “Wait. There’s a sequel to Joe Dirt?” Yes. Yes there is. It premiered on the prestigious service “Crackle”. You know, that app you downloaded, but you’ve never actually watched anything on it? That one.
Even with all that, I can say… I chuckled maybe three times? Which is more than I did during the entire duration of Paul Blart, a film that actually went to theatres and made physical money. I watched Joe Dirt 2 for free, and got three laughs. So, despite the fact that this should have been the worst film of the year, it’s not. And, I’d say it’s even better than Aloha. I’d rather watch Joe Dirt 2 again than Aloha.
But, this is really just a terrible film, for real. It’s a lot of fart jokes, and dick jokes, and whatever crude humor you could imagine. No one is really invested. It’s shot almost like there wasn’t really a script, just some notes on a legal pad. This movie also made me miss Dennis Miller. Where the hell have you been Dennis? Why are you not on my TV every week?
You can skip Joe Dirt 2. It’s an awful sequel that should have never been made.
