CBS has renewed Under The Dome for a second season, to air next summer. At first, there was speculation about whether or not the show would be moved to a late spring debut, but it looks like it is still being labeled a summer series (for now anyway).
This is good news. The show hasn’t met my pre-pilot expectations and, sure, it takes enough liberties with the source material to piss off a ton of King purists. But if you separate the series from the source material and view it as it’s own beast, there are more good than bad in the show. In fact, it’s been on a roll the last few weeks. Each episode has been a slight improvement.
I think it has potential to be great in season 2. As a King fan, I’m very happy he’s going to be writing to premiere.
