Charmed (CBS)– Yes. CBS is working on rebooting Charmed. Of course, Aaron Spelling is dead, so it has a new team of producers. And, it isn’t being produced on the logical CW (though CBS may pass, and The CW may end up taking it). How do you feel about a reboot of a series that just finished in 2006?
Cleopatra (NBC)- NBC is making a period drama about Cleopatra and Marc Antony and Julius Caesar. It’ll be a little supernatural, with gods and monsters involved.
Clipsters (TBS)- TBS is continuing on trying to get more original sitcoms off the ground. This one is from the team behind Will and Grace, and is a workplace comedy about a barbershop. Considering how poorly Ground Floor did, I wonder if TBS will be ordering more sitcoms, or less?
Colony (The CW)- A sci-fi drama about a group of people sent to start colonizing Mars. Could this serve as a companion series to a certain midseason replacement?
The Comedians (FX)- Billy Crystal and Josh Gad topline a sitcom from Larry Charles. The fact that this show only has a pilot order, and not an immediate series pick up is baffling. I would have picked up at least a few episodes just because of the talent involved. The plot revolves around an established comedian having to team up with a very green new comedian for his late night talk show.
Complications (USA)- After finishing Burn Notice, Matt Nix pitched his next series as a gritty medical drama. USA doesn’t have a medical drama right now (sorry, I don’t count Royal Pains), and might be looking to move into this genre.
Constantine (NBC)- Based on the comic book series, which also was adapted into a movie with Keanu Reeves. The show has a penalty on it if not ordered to series. David Goyer is serving as EP. Constantine would pair well with Grimm. I doubt NBC sticks with Dracula, and they’ll be looking for a new series for next fall.
Copland (STARZ)- A TV show adaptation of the movie. James Mangold (the films director) is on board as EP. It only has a script order right now.
Creature At Bay (SYFY)- Bryan Singer is producing a show, which centers around the aftermath of the government taking out a giant Kaiji type creature. Bryan Singer is a solid producer, but Syfy hasn’t been making much of a push for new dramas. They choose them sparingly, so it will take more than just Singer’s name to convince them to order the series.
Criminal Justice (HBO)- This was the show that James Gandolfini was attached to. Robert DeNiro has since stepped in to fill his shoes, and the show has a 7 episode commitment.
Cross (The CW)- Is The CW looking for a companion series to Reign? They’ve ordered a script, so they might be thinking about it. The show is set in the 19th century about a girl who assumes her twin brothers identity after he dies, so she can become a doctor.
Crushed (HBO)- HBO is looking into having a sitcom with an all African-American cast about a family that “stumbles upon” a successful winery.
Crushed (TNT)- And then TNT decided to have the same show… but make it more of a companion series to Dallas. And probably with less black people.
Cuckoo (CBS)- Based on Andy Samberg’s BBC show. A daughter comes back from her summer abroad with a moron of a boyfriend. Basically, it’s a TV show adaptation of Son In Law. That reminds me… what is Pauly Shore up to these days?
Dad, Stop Embarrassing Me (TBS)- Jamie Foxx is developing a sitcom based on his relationship with his own daughter. I’m sure this pilot would be more high profile if Jamie Foxx was actually in it.
Damascus (CBS)- America Ferrera has a pilot in production at CBS, which she is also producing. I’m pretty sure you’ll hear about it, though I don’t think it’ll get a series order. It’s not on brand for CBS. A show about a nun who travels the world and does good while fighting big bad corporations? Unless, MAYBE, they think it’ll pair with The Good Wife.
Deliverance Creek (Lifetime)- Lauren Ambrose is toplining a civil war drama from executive producer Nicholas Sparks. The thing you really need to know is Nicholas Sparks is producing a show for Lifetime. If that isn’t a match made in heaven, I don’t know what is.
Dinks (ABC)- Casey Wilson, Jonathan Groff, and June Diane Raphael are producing a comedy for Raphael. Groff produced Happy Endings, and Wilson starred in it. Will ABC want to get back in bed with the same team for a second go around?
Divide and Conquer (USA)- One of USA’s comedy pilots, this one stars Diane Farr and Greg Grunberg as parents trying to raise four kids. USA landed off-network rights to Modern Family, and this seems like they are trying to pair it with something.
Doll and Em (HBO)- It already has a six-episode commitment, and stars Emily Mortimer. The concept is about a girl who serves as the personal assistant to her best friend, who is now a celebrity.
Domain (FOX)– It’s a little like The Blacklist. A hacker is coerced into helping the government track down the source of recent national security leaks. Produced by Shawn Levy.
Dominion (SYFY)– Anthony Stewart Head, Alan Dale, and Chris Egan topline a sci-fi drama. I think this one will make it.
Dorothy (CBS)- A medical drama with characters inspired by The Wizard of Oz. Sounds like a cool concept, but ask yourself… would I see this on CBS?
Dorothy Must Die (The CW)- Another Dorothy series, but this one might actually get a series order. This one is much closer to the original concept, and is a revisionist take where Dorothy stayed in Oz and became a fascist dictator. If The CW decides to stick with Beauty and the Beast, this could be a good companion series.
Down Dog (Bravo)- Bravo is developing dramas. This one is about a hedge fund trader in New York who trades in her old life for a new one as a self-help guru.
Dr Ken (NBC)– Ken Jeong is producing a show about his life as a doctor, before he became an actor The sad thing is it doesn’t have Ken attached to star. If Ken was starring, I’d say this is a sure-fire bet. After all, he was able to get this ordered with penalty, and he’s not even in the cast.
Haven’t heard of a lot of these, great post man!
