After what first seemed like another death hoax, Paul Walker’s death has been confirmed by every major news outlet. The star was attending a charity event earlier today when a car driven by a friend was involved in an accident that took both their lives. He was 40 years old.

Paul Walker started acting in 1986 in the shlockfest Monster In the Closet. His first really big break came when he starred in Meet The Deedles, which even though it flopped, led to plum roles in a lot of late-90’s classics, like Pleasantville, She’s All That, and Varsity Blues. In 2001, He became a bonafide movie star in The Fast and the Furious, the franchise for which he is probably most known today. It spawned 6 sequels, the latest is slated for next summer.

In addition to the Fast franchise, Paul Walker also had memorable turns in The Skulls, Joy Ride, Eight Below, Flags Of Our Fathers, and Takers. He does have the upcoming Brick Mansions in the can, and had been shooting the seventh film in the Fast and Furious franchise. It isn’t clear yet if Paul had finished shooting his scenes yet, or how the franchise plans to deal with the death of its lead character.
