It’s the day after Halloween. I had such a weird experience, where years of declining trick or treaters apparently led to a group trying to reclaim the night, and hundreds of people were out. No one could possibly have prepared that much candy.
What was your Halloween experience?
13) Alias (Disney Plus)
English Audio Description?: No
Status: Ended
This show has LONG scenes just set to music where action is happening, and no dialogue, which makes it really hard to follow, even for someone who has seen this show before. Sydney was still reeling from Dixon having a second detonator, she thinks her dad is a Russian spy, and Sloan thinks there’s a mole in SD-6.
Episode Grade: Unwatchable
12) First Wives Club (BET Plus)
English Audio Description?: No
Status: Unknown
Wait. Did we kill someone off last episode? Maybe i should have rated the last episode as unwatchable. This episode opens up with everyone in mourning, and I just thought the last episode was a destination wedding that didn’t happen, because the bride didn’t want to be pregnant at 49, and everyone left amicably. When did someone die? What in sam hell did I miss?
Episode Grade: Unwatchable
11) Trophy Wife (Hulu)
English Audio Descritpion?: No
Status: Ended
This is the finale of Trophy Wife, which wasn’t renewed for a second season. I’d rate this higher, as I hate saying goodbye to this a second time with this low of a rank, except it was so weird to see Bradley Whitford’s overworked character kinda wishing his indigestion was a heart attack. I’d still recommend the series, which is a very underrated gem.

10) Doug (Paramount Plus)
English Audio Description?: No
Status: Ended
Doug thinks his first potential date with Patty means he has to eat liver and onions. It was a different time. The second part of the episode involves Doug helping the foreign exchange student, who keeps calling him Doog.

9) The Changeling (Apple Plus)
English Audio Description?: Yes
Status: Limited
This episode is so weird. Apollo gets to see the kids in their environment, but not his wife. He does meet the other guys wife, who suggests Apollo’s friend isn’t what he seems. Then at the end of the episode, it makes some really bold choices, and goes off the rails. Off. The. Rails.

8) The Other Black Girl (Hulu)
English Audio Description?: Yes
Status: Unknown
I’m just still trying to figure out what this show is. It has so many different elements in it that I can’t tell even what genre it seems to be shooting for. It’s unsettling, for more ways than just exploring race, but it’s also sometimes funny, and I cannot figure out what this show wants its audience to get. I may not know until the whole thing is done. I’m intrigued, but I still feel like I’m waiting for something to really move the needle. Colin is a pompous ass though, and incredibly easy to dislike.
Episode Grade: B
7) Young Love (MAX)
English Audio Description?: Yes

Lil Unc ruined this episode for me. I loved the granddaughter and grandmother getting work done, and the stuff at the hair salon, but the fact that anyone would choose to spend time with Lil unc, and on top of that, wait that long for him to give them money as he blows his nose into wads of cash, was far more frustrating. I know it’s a family friendly show, but i wanted anyone to beat the crap out of this character so we could all move on.
Episode Grade: B
6) The Critic (Tubi)
English Audio Description?: No
status: Ended
I love that this show is still out there. jay takes his kid out so he can romance the girl he has a crush on. So many solid jokes. I’d love to see this show get a revival, but no critics exist in the same way Jay does anymore.
Episode Grade: B+
5) Killing It (Peacock)

I still don’t trust Isaiah even after this episode that gave him backstory. I did like how Jillian always comes through, but I’m concerned about how this episode ended.
Episode Grade: B+
4) The Fall Of The House Of Usher (Netflix)
English Audio Description?: Yes
Status: Limited
This is the Tell Tale heart episode, which is modernized in a way I wasn’t too crazy about. Mark Hamill is still blowing my mind.
Episode Grade: B+
3) Saturday Night Live (Peacock)
English Audio description?: No
Status: Renewed?
Nate Barghazi hosts, and I’ve been a fan of his when no one seemed to know who he was. I’m so glad he’s getting his time in the SNL sun. His opening monologue was hilarious. Really, I thought every sketch was strong. I loved the cooking competition, as well as the dig at the bizarre costume demands from SAG AFTRA.

In the Season 2 finale, Selina learns that the President isn’t seeking reelection, and she will get to run. Season 3 should be exciting.

1) Fleabag (Amazon)
English Audio Description?: Yes
Status: Ended
Even after everything, Fleabag is still there for her sister when she quietly has a miscarriage. She urges her to go to the hospital, and when she won’t, she pretends to be the one who had the miscarriage and everyone at the dinner party says to go to the hospital, until Martin just breaks everything with such an asinine response that Fleabag punches him. It’s amazing how well written this show can be, and how great Phoebe Waller Bridge is.
