This one is barely a review. It’s more of a conversation. I probably could break this down, and review it, but I don’t think I should. Truthfully, I’ve never watched Monk. I only watched this because I was with someone else who loved Monk, and the only reason I’m bothering with a post is because it had audio description.

And yes, the audio description seemed to be fine. it is a detective story, so picking up clues along the way feels integral. It also really opened up this debate between me and my film companion that Monk is suicidal. there were all these little moments being pointed out, and I was wondering where this movie would be taking this. I didn’t really get into this, but it’s hard to get into a wrap up film for the fans of the series you never watched. However, the person I was with absolutely loved this thing. like, almost in tears. So, out of respect, I think I’ll let the fans decide if this is good or not.

For my money, I thought the audio description was fine, for what is essentially an extended episode of a detective TV show. This isn’t Avatar. So, monk fans who need audio description, this is absolutely your jam. Everyone else, I really think they made this one for people who watched the show. It doesn’t do a lot of explaining about who or what things are, and seems to just be more interested in offering fans closure.

Final Grade: Abstain.
