i finally wrapped Lawmen (Paramount Plus), which absolutely could have a second season if they wanted. It was a fantastic series, with possibly the best audio description I heard in television this year. Definitely a Top 3 show. Amazing performances, the score was incredible, and just the whole production kept me engaged for all eight episodes.

Has Been Hotel (Amazon) continues to be an oddity fitting of A24, as it combines this concept of redemption in hell with these bizarre characters and full musical numbers. Amazon needs to promote this show more, or it will fail. I’m recognizing several voices in the cast. Pretty sure, without looking at IMDB, Lake Bell is here. After hearing her voice Poison Ivy in Harley Quinn, as well as Black Widow in What If (yes, Scarlett Johansson is one of the actors who opted out), I can hear her. A24 purists I believe are required to watch all things A24 anyway.

Also animated, Scott Pilgrim Takes off (Netflix) shows us where Scott has been, and prepares for what is likely to be an epic final battle. Kudos on using Will Forte as the older version of Scott.

And lastly, I finished far Away Downs (Hulu), which means I now need to carve some time out to see Australia. Which version is better? You decide. It is funny that this worked so well as a six part limited series though.
