Well, production on Season 3 of Foundation has been pushed back. Not a great sign for a show that needs a lot of post-production. but, in good news for no one except the people on the show, FOX gave Animal Control an early Season 3 renewal. Sadly, they didn’t give it audio description.
I finished Echo (Disney Plus), which has the weirdest ending. It feels like it’s building to this massive and epic fight, and it wasn’t as epic as the build up was. Still, a solid show, but I wonder if any Marvel show will ever truly hit me the same way WandaVision did with imagination and quality mixed perfectly with great performances. It’s the one Marvel show I feel like I will be rewatching.
Boy Swallows The universe (Netflix) starts to hit its stride in the third episode. A show that has taken time to warm up to, is finally gaining steam, and the boy that plays Eli is doing some great work for a child his age.
I also finished Monarch (Apple plus) which ends with Kong, making me wonder if everyone who wants to see Godzilla vs Kong 2 needs to see this or something. I’m not sure why this exists, but I could say the same about The Continental.
The second episode of Ex-Pats (Amazon) is actually the crucial one. While I’m still not in love with the series, I would argue that you can’t fully make up your mind until after watching both the first and second episode. What I said in my initial thoughts is still true. I feel like the show was making a promise to show more characters and tell more stories, instead of just this story. Perhaps they want it to be an anthology series?
I did watch some other things, without AD. One of them was Doug (Paramount Plus), and the only reason I mention it at all now is because in season 2, they make a solid Bob Ross joke, and as a kid I think it flew over my head. As an adult, I appreciated it much more. Sometimes, you can go on a nostalgic trip and uncover new things.
