I know The Tourist (Netflix) was trending. I had no idea what it was so I didn’t check it out initially. Then, I clicked on it, and I found out that the second season had just dropped. Jamie Dornan? Audio Description? Sure, let me jump right in… wait. It says my next episode is Season 2, Episode 1. What? Have I seen this before? So, i went back and rewatched the pilot instead, and slowly these pieces started coming back. I don’t remember how the season ended though. when was this? Why did my brain delet this show? Is it because it has such a dull title, or is this truly unremarkable? Anyway, I guess I have to start this over from the beginning. The audio description, which I probably mentioned before, is fine.
Meanwhile, Netflix had no idea that I was already a huge girls5Eva fan, and had already devoured the first two seasons. I’m so glad that this show is on Netflix, and has a third season. I think the production value actually went up, the audio description got better (Deluxe?!) and Darren Rivets is narrating. I couldn’t ask for anything more… except a guarantee that this show will have a Season4Eva. If you aren’t watching this to help keep it on TV, I don’t think we can be friends anymore.
Apple Plus has some new shows I hadn’t started yet, The Completely Made up Adventures of Dick Turpin and Manhunt. Two totally different programs. Manhunt is getting way more attention, but Dick Turpin is really well written. A whip smart script. Truly, one of these underrated gems that Apple produces that no one seems to care about. if you are a fan of their surprisingly undiscovered rare gems like Trying, you’ll love this. Manhunt had a solid start, but it is balancing a lot of ideas and time frames in the first episode, along with a large cast. It isn’t my favorite pilot, but it mostly pulls off the idea of you wanting to see more. As a limited series, your investment is low to begin with.
And, in classic TV land, i watched the Season 4 finale of game Of Thrones, which sucks. I hate watching Tyrion kill Shae. Shae should have had the opportunity to redeem herself, instead of how it ends for her. But, Tyrion also gets to shoot his father, which is a nice moment for the show, and everyone seems to be on a mission for season 5.
I also watched episodes of Veep (MAX) and The golden Girls (Hulu), both of which had audio description.
