I was so excited to jump back into Sweet Tooth (Netflix) yesterday, even if it means the last season. I’m OK with a three season run, if it means the show knows it is ending, and can wrap up its story on its own terms. I’m still angry that Glow had that stolen from it. I did listen to a review of the season from another one of my favorite critics, MoviesAndMunchies over on YouTube, and he mentioned that he didn’t like Season 2 as much, but I actually thought the show got stronger, as we saw more hybrids, and ultimately met and gained Wendy into the main cast. Season 2 actually got me more invested, to the point where I could go far beyond season 3, and now I’m sad to see it go. This first episode is a bit nuts, as we bounce between our main four, “big Man’, Gus, Wendy, and Becky, as they head toward Alaska, on foot. you do need a little leap of logic as they happen to stumble upon this one hotel they saw a brochure for without any map or compass. They just get there… somehow. There is the introduction of the new villains, who seem to be advanced hybrids. Less hybrid, and more animalistic with human tendencies. How will that factor in this season? As long as our four leads don’t die, I don’t care. Big Man deserves to not be the typical character who has to die in order to be truly redeemed. Negan proved that you actually can find redemption without sacrifice. (Walking dead reference)
I did finish Feud (Hulu) finally, and officially. I had stopped watching it for a while, because i wasn’t enjoying it that much, but I noticed I was so close to the end that I just decided to knock out the final three episodes. I’m not sure anyone will get an Emmy nomination, though i know they are making a play for a posthumous nomination for Treat Williams. Tom Hollander has just too much competition in lead for a performance Philip Seymour Hoffman won an Oscar for.
I knocked out another Transformers Earthspark (Paramount Plus) since Season 1 had a ton of episodes, and they just dropped season 2. I have a lot of catching up to do. This doesn’t sound like the best quality audio description for some reason, like it was recorded in a lower quality and they couldn’t match it to the quality of the show. I hear this sometimes on Paramount Plus. Knuckles had the same problem.
I watched another episode of The Weakest link (Peacock), which it is nice to have audio description for, as I can actually tell who is voting for who. Without AD I have to try and remember all these voices I just met. It’s a lot.
And, I watched another Elsabeth (Paramount Plus), which seemed like the season finale, but I got a notification for “next episode”. I would think that leaving a cliffhanger on whether or not Elsabeth is staying in NYC would be the thing you’d want to hold over till next season. What else could they have up their sleeve? I do love Carrie Preston, and i secretly hope she earns an Emmy nomination this year.
And in terms of classic TV, I did watch an episode of Silicon Valley (MAX), which had audio description. I’m glad I’m finally getting around to this series. I’m in the middle of Season 2.
