The Small Screen Diaries- 07/07/24

This is going to be so short. I used most of my TV time to knock out the final three episodes of Wandla (Apple Plus), which I do plan on doing a more in depth review of. What I’ll say for sure is that I’m down for Season 2, and I think families will love this. It might be a bit much for little ones, but probably 6-7 on up will enjoy this. Even adults (though, it’s not going to be like your new Bridgerton or something).

I did another episode of the excellent Jurassic World: Chaos Theory (Netflix), which saw the gang inch closer to the mystery. Man, when Kenji stopped to mourn the loss of his father, I was like… this is an animated sequel series. this is better than half the Jurassic movies. I really badly want the writers of this to be allowed to write the next Jurassic movie so it won’t suck.

I did decide to check out Fantasmas (MAX), based on finding out this was from the same guy who wrote and directed Problemista. This guy has A24 vibes all over him, and A24 should sign him to a multi picture deal now. His perspective is unique, his questions are solid, and this is interesting as much as it was entertaining. And, Paul Dano? That was unexpected.

Other than that, the only other TV shows I watched with audio descriptions were catch ups. I think I might have just finished We Are Lady Parts: Season 1 (Peacock), but I’m still in the middle of 911: Season 5 (Hulu).

Say Something!
