it is amazing what you can easily get your hands on. Lone Pup was just sitting in the Apple Store, and was listed as having audio description. However, IMDb is very confused. it recognizes that the film completed filming, is available to rent on Amazon, but is slated for release in 2026. This has kept the film from having a score, user reviews, or potentially a Metacritic rating. I’ve seen something IMDb says isn’t possible, and I just pulled it from the regular good old fashioned store. No piracy required.
There’s not much here, though the audio description is essential. The only thing that speaks in the context of the film is this mountain, which overlooks all these dinosaurs. The rest are cartoon dinos who have not been gifted the ability to speak. This is a land before time, but not that land. no Littlefoot, but instead Lone Pup is just a baby T-Rex that wanders from his family and ends up on a realistic somewhat dangerous adventure. It feels like a nature film, if we sent a cameraman back in time.
The movie has typical violence for a nature film, where animals eat other animals. In terms of the audio description, it did a nice job of bringing this nearly dialogue free film to life, so we could enjoy the story as it unfolds, and the various other dinosaurs Lone Pup encounters. Personally, I would rather watch The Land before Time, but to each their own.
Rotten: Final Grade: 4.9/10
