What is it?: A seemingly implausible adaptation, the show centers around Red Fish and blue Fish from the Dr Seuss classic One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish. They get up to animated hijinx, from trying to rake leaves from the lawn to a Christmas episode.

What Works:I do like to occasionally check out a show meant for kids, because no one else is really focused on audio description in children’s programming. I’m delighted to report that the audio description here is amazing, and Tristan Snyder made it worth it. Just a really perfect choice.

the series is too short, with only five episodes, but it feels like the target age is like 3-7 years old. It isn’t educational programming, so it is part of those early, easy cartoons your kids will enjoy. These fish take baths underwater. the point of this is to remind your kids to do the same, but it is silly to see fish bathing in tubs. they are already underwater. So, a little plot inconvenience adults notice, and not little kids.

It really isn’t dialogue heavy either.

I think I enjoyed the Christmas episode the most, though the show has an affability in its charm that makes it for a pretty safe watch. It isn’t for adults, there aren’t a bunch of jokes that fly over kids heads. it is a genuine, aimed at kids specifically show. It also is inoffensive, so I can’t see why it wouldn’t be Ok even for the little ones.

The Audio Description: As I already mentioned, Tristan is a perfect hire for children’s television. Not only was the writing strong, but their inclusion as the narrator really puts the experience over the top.

Why You Might Like it: You are a child who found the internet. Welcome.

Why you Might Not Like It: It is for your kids, but you might not hate yourself for watching it with them. but, most likely, you will avoid at all costs.

Final thoughts: the book taught us to count, the show teaches us nothing new, but provides wholesome entertainment for even the youngest of kids. it also sets the standard for audio description in children’s Programming, a genre often overlooked as the target demo isn’t likely to complain.

Final Grade: Fresh: 6.6/10
