Apparently Percy Jackson is doing solid numbers for Disney. Over 13M in the first week. Surprisingly, around the presents, phone calls, food, and other holiday shenanigans I managed 5 shows, and two movies. Not bad. Obviously, there wasn’t any major news coming out of Hollywood. Jake Johnson mentioned yesterday that he does not believe Starz will renew Minx. I’m telling you, it’s the only reason I haven’t cancelled yet. I’m living on a prayer. Well, the wrong costume won The Masked Singer. Not the one I was rooting for, although, when the winner was revealed, I can’t say that’s a bad person to have on top. Also, Starz is seemingly trying to just turn into the Power network. After rapidly cancelling Heels earlier this year, and recently announcing the upcoming 3rd season of Hightower will be its last, they just cancelled Shining Veil. I’m happy for Fred Armisen, and I’m happy for anyone who actually enjoyed his portrayal of Uncle Fester. He was my least favorite casting choice in the series. Honestly, in television news? I read that Ray Romano has wholeheartedly declined to ever bring back Everybody Loves Raymond. In a world where they keep doing this, most of the time it doesn’t work out. Sure, The Connors is a lone exception, but even that doesn’t have the ratings of the original show, and will fall short of Roseanne’s original run. It’s highly unlikely Paramount Plus is keeping the new Frasier revival around for 11 years. Although, some shows and characters I wouldn’t mind seeing again. Just a friendly reminder that Amazon launched the second season of Reacher. Don’t worry, it got an early Season 3 renewal, as well as Star Alan Ritchson getting a deal for his production label. My little boy is all grown up. Yesterday was the nominations for the Critics Choice Film section, and my quick hot take is: they are more concerned with being a bellwether for predicting the Oscar’s that they aren’t doing anything interesting anymore. Woke up to the tributes pouring in for Andre Braugher, who passed away at the age of just 61. He was such a brilliant actor, who could handle drama and comedy.
