I’ve been deep diving a bit more into the SAG-AFTRA talks and some of the stuff they’re requesting isn’t unreasonable. Actually, none of it is. Just take some of these CEO salaries, lower them, and you’ll have the money to pay for some of this stuff. Also, for the poor people without cable or Peacock, Yellowstone is coming to CBS in the fall since they are a little short on new programming. Add to that, the UK version of Ghosts, which I’m at least interested in checking out.

12) 8 Simple Rules (Disney plus) English Audio Description?: No Sorry, this was a tough day to rank, and 8 Simple Rules just felt like it missed a mark the most. This episode had a solid reference to Three’s Company, but squandered the “kids out of the house” moment by not letting the adults actually have any meaningful time together. john Ritter’s time on the show was fleeting, and I can’t help but think this missed a mark to show that Paul and Kate were more than just parents. What made it worse was that Kate tried so hard to … Continue reading I’ve been deep diving a bit more into the SAG-AFTRA talks and some of the stuff they’re requesting isn’t unreasonable. Audio description. It’s time Hollywood made that the norm, isn’t it? Anyway, i digress. 10) Outlander (Starz) English Audio Description?: No Status: Final Season So, I realized before starting to watch Season 7, i couldn’t remember where we left off. This show is hard enough to watch without audio description, but on top of that it has long gaps between seasons. So, like I did with The Witcher, I’m rewatching a bit. However, I only dropped back 1 season, to Season 6. Even with that, how the season opened, I was like… did I need to rewatch five? I remember … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 07/16/23

Your fall TV lineup from the networks looks really different. Lots of game shows, reality shows, and non-scripted programming, plus content from the international market. 9) Dinosaurs (Disney Plus) English Audio Description?: No Status: Ended I’m into the second season now. Junior ends up at his dad’s worksite. Will his dad’s boss eat him? These are the deep questions. Episode Grade: B- 8) Dave (FX) English Audio Description?: Yes Status: Not Yet renewed Also forever known as the Brad Pitt episode, this episode was so bizarre, but Brad Pitt’s level of commitment to this episode made it something else. Hearing … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 07/15/23

It’s amazing how many people out there have no problem consuming the work of the SAG and WGA but are complaining now because they think actors are little babies. While streaming residuals are a factor, since syndication and linear viewing are down, it is not the only factor. The use of AI technology is a key factor in both guilds. The writers do not want AI to be a credited screenwriter taking over their job, nor do the SAG want AI images of them used in perpetuity. The major studios and networks want to do things like scan crowd scenes … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 07/14/23

So, SAG is on strike. It’s a great time to catch up on a show, since most of the shows haven’t been shooting, and now even more of them won’t be. I’ve heard some overseas productions are still filming. I’m not sure how. But they are MAX projects, including House Of The Dragon. 15) The Muppets Mayhem (Disney Plus) English Audio Description?: Yes Status: Not Yet Renewed Now, I really want Peter Jackson to direct a Muppets movie. For those who don’t understand how amazing this would be, it’s not because of his Beatles thing on Disney Plus. Let’s just … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 07/13/23

Yesterday was insane. Emmy nominations. Next year, i will start predicting bonkers choices just to match these Emmy voters. And, it was the last day of Prime day! What useless crap did you buy? Also, the SAg extension ended, which should mean the actors are on strike. i haven’t seen that officially, but that’s generally what means when a deadline passes. Considering I’ve heard the studios have no plans to negotiate with the WGA, and hopes to make them all poor so the writers will cave, I’m hoping the SAG strikes too. We need writers. Most of them. I know … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 07/12/23

Emmy Nominations are being announced at 11:30EST this morning. may the odds be ever in your shows favor. Unless your show is Yellowstone. In which case, you’ll need much more than a Hunger Games quote for a show the Emmy voters continuously ignore. 11) American Born Chinese (Disney plus) English Audio Description: Yes Status: Not Yet Renewed Perhaps this should have been the pilot. It goes much deeper into the other realm of Monkey business this show hints at. it’s such a weird show. I feel like it’s this great 10,000 piece puzzle that the picture looks great on the … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 07/11/23

Emmy Nominations and a SAG strike are both upon us. 8) The Crowded Room (Apple Plus) English Audio Description?: Yes Status: Limited Humor me. If there was no shooting at the beginning, and this was just Seyfried interrogating holland, and learning about his past, with holland occasionally being confused as to why he was there, would you still be watching this? Or, are you hoping the ending will make it worth it? Are you watching simply because the stars are good? Because, this show isn’t a slow burn. That would suggest the potential of fire within that burn. This has … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 07/10/23

What a disappointing day of TV. 13) The Crowded Room (Apple Plus) English Audio Description?: Yes Status: Limited So, the show is going to try and confuse you through poor direction and writing. Got it. If this turns out that he has a split personality disorder, and this is like identity, I’m calling it now. We open with a shooting, and then transition to Tom Holland sitting in an interrogation room, where he talks about his time in high school and buying weed. WHAT? Luckily, I love Holland, so I’ll give this one more episode, but that was an awful … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 07/09/23

Remember, we are just a few days away from SAG-AFTRA going on strike. There are people currently still working, and those people would stop. I can’t think of that many things that wouldn’t be in reruns. Take The View for example. Whoopi is definitely a SAG member. They’ve dodged the WGAA strike, but they wouldn’t be able to dodge this one. And I highly doubt she’s the only member with a SAG card, as Sarah Haynes hosts The Chase. 13) Dinosaurs (Disney Plus) English Audio Description?: No Status: Ended The only thing worse than a clip show, is a season … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 07/08/23

Yesterday would have been a great day to watch Seven. Instead, we found out HBo was cancelling A Black Ladie’s Sketch Show. Also, apparently Crater has already been pulled from Disney Plus? Man that was fast. I might be the only person who liked it. 15) Blindspotting (Starz) English Audio Description?: no Status: Not Yet Rnewed Rumors of infidelity consumed this episode that was a bit hard to follow without audio description. Sex Education is ending with Season 4. I’m OK with that. It’s a show about High Schoolers. one of their main cast is now Doctor Who. And, several key cast aren’t coming back for the final season. Plus, for a show that should be relatively easy to shoot, it’s taking a really long time for this season to roll out. 13) Cheers (Paramount Plus) English Audio Description?: No Status: Ended Let me tell you. By the way, there’s never been a better time to catch up on a show. If there’s something you didn’t watch initially, and were worried you’d never catch up on, the writers strike and possible actors strike will mean a lot of shows that would have returned in September, won’t be. 13) The Family Stallone (Paramount Plus) English Audio Description?: Yes Status: Renewed It’s just not my type of show.
