Looks like iCarly is going away again as paramount Plus has axed the reboot after 3 seasons. Well, the shoe dropped. ABC officially cancelled Home Economics. It’s an odd decision, considering everything I’ve read suggests that sitcoms are the quickest thing to get back on the air. There are a lot of articles out there about “When is my favorite show coming back?” Presumably, once the leadership passes the tentative agreement on, they will lift the restrictions while WGA members vote on whether or not to approve. Right now, the only thing that has stopped is picketing. Since they were not technically being struck to begin with, those daytime talk shows that faced backlash could likely return next week, including Drew Barrymore and Jennifer Hudson. The studios claim they have made their best and final offer to the WGA,. After four days of negotiations, the two are scheduled to meet again today. I do believe this has to be ratified by the membership, so if there aren’t major concessions made by the studios it won’t pass. I’m getting a little tired of renewals not meaning anything anymore. Peacock has reversed its decision on a second season of Bumper In Berlin. Why even bother with renewals? Why lie to fans if your plan is to just piss them off later on by yanking the show away? I wonder what social media is going to do to all the actors who wrote in letters of support for Danny Masterson. It’s not a great look right now for several of his former cast mates, as well as some random names like Giovanni Ribisi and Jonathan Tucker. i think what is truly telling is that not all of the cast did write letters. Warner TV suspended it’s TV deals with a lot of the major showrunners they had deals with. This strike is just one big power play for the studios. I saw the upcoming list of shows starting next week, and Virgin River is likely the one most worth mentioning.
