I’ve been deep diving a bit more into the SAG-AFTRA talks and some of the stuff they’re requesting isn’t unreasonable. Actually, none of it is. Just take some of these CEO salaries, lower them, and you’ll have the money to pay for some of this stuff. Also, for the poor people without cable or Peacock, Yellowstone is coming to CBS in the fall since they are a little short on new programming. Add to that, the UK version of Ghosts, which I’m at least interested in checking out.

12) 8 Simple Rules (Disney plus) English Audio Description?: No Sorry, this was a tough day to rank, and 8 Simple Rules just felt like it missed a mark the most. This episode had a solid reference to Three’s Company, but squandered the “kids out of the house” moment by not letting the adults actually have any meaningful time together. john Ritter’s time on the show was fleeting, and I can’t help but think this missed a mark to show that Paul and Kate were more than just parents. What made it worse was that Kate tried so hard to … Continue reading I’ve been deep diving a bit more into the SAG-AFTRA talks and some of the stuff they’re requesting isn’t unreasonable. It’s amazing how many people out there have no problem consuming the work of the SAG and WGA but are complaining now because they think actors are little babies. While streaming residuals are a factor, since syndication and linear viewing are down, it is not the only factor. The use of AI technology is a key factor in both guilds. The writers do not want AI to be a credited screenwriter taking over their job, nor do the SAG want AI images of them used in perpetuity. The major studios and networks want to do things like scan crowd scenes … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 07/14/23

We will not go quietly without a fight! Today, we celebrate, our Independence Day! If you have a little kid, show them that movie, and tell them it really happened, and that’s the reason we celebrate July 4th. Just as a little test. See if they believe you. Anyway, welcome to Earth! 16) The Adventures Of The Gummi Bears (Disney Plus) English Audio Description?: no Status: Ended well, I promised myself ten episodes of this series I loved as a kid, and part of some of these nostalgic trips is that not every show is hitting like i expected. There are … Continue reading The Too Much TV Lineup: 07/03/23

Paramount Plus is purging again. This time, I won’t be burned by saying everything has already been removed. The biggest cancellation/removal is Inside Amy Schumer. The rest are some documentaries, Paramount Plus original movies (Snow Day and Fantasy Football), and a bunch of Nickelodeon shows, only two of which I had even heard of. No 90’s content except Allegra’s Window sounded familiar. 10) Family Matters (MAX) English Audio Description?: Yes Status: Ended Nothing really was wrong here, except Laura sold the wrong quilt, and had to get it back. It was very dramatic. Episode Grade: B 9) 911 (Hulu) English … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 06/26/23

Well, filming on 1923’s second season has been postponed until after the writers strike. I get the feeling these strikes are going to last for a while. 10) Designing Women (Hulu) English Audio Description?: no Status: Ended The ladies and their somewhat problematic boyfriends prepare to celebrate New years. Episode Grade: B- 9) Friends (MAX) English Audio Description?: Yes Status: Ended Whence we last left off, Monica and Richard broke up, and Chandler reunited with Janice. This is not a fair trade. Monica spends the episode mourning the relationship she ended, and smoking cigars, while Joey submits himself to trying … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 06/19/23

Well, The CW finally made some choices. They’ve axed Gotham knights, but are keeping All American homecoming and Superman and Lois. Also, heartbreaking news that Treat Williams was killed in a motorcycle accident at the age of 71. Those who check out the roundup semi-frequently might have noticed I’ve been rewatching Everwood. He will always be Dr. Andy Brown for me. Since I’ve started rewatching the show, I’ve lost two Everwood cast members. Maybe I should stop before I lose another one. 12) Dinosaurs (Disney Plus) English Audio Description?: No Status: Ended On a day of really pretty good TV, … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 06/12/23

I’m not sure there’s a ton of TV news, aside from the fact that the DGA signed a new contract, leaving the WGA and SAG as being the two still left. But, I did watch a ton of pilot episodes yesterday. 16) Clone high (MAX) English Audio Description?: No Status: Revived Still trying to get through the original Clone High. I think I finally am hearing Will forte’s voice. This episode dealt with getting a diagnoses of ADD. Maybe this would be funnier with audio description. Episode Grade: B- 15) 8 Simple Rules (Disney Plus) English Audio Description?: No Status: … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 06/04/23
