The exciting TV news for the day? Night Court has axed Neil. of course, with my limited time, I was planning on axing Night Court anyway. Also, expect even less day and date releases in 2023, since the strikes pushed back a lot of films on the 2023 calendar. Now they are worried that 2023 could be a really slow year at the movies. Well, maybe you should have stopped trying to replace everyone with AI. 1) Neon (Netflix) English Audio Description?: Yes Status: Not Yet Renewed Santi pushes his crew further away as he chooses his fake alliance with … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 12/28/23

Remember how I said the strike would be leading to more and more announcements of cancellations? NBC has now confirmed that the shortened third season of Labrea is officially its last, something most people assumed. You don’t just cut an episode count that dramatically and keep it running for years after. Speaking of running for years, this upcoming season of Blue Bloods will be its last as well, but the show will split and finish its 14th season in the fall. 1) Wrestlers (Netflix) English Audio Description?: Yes Status: Limited This docuseries has proven far more interesting than I initially … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 11/20/23

The fact that I’m hearing that the SAG AMPTA negotiations are being held up over AI really tells me all I need to know about the studios positions. I do hope SAG does not waiver on their counter to many of the terrible ideas these studios were proposing, including owning an actors likeness in perpetuity, simply because they showed up as an extra for one day. People say that AI is the future, and there’s nothing we can do to stop it. If we don’t regulate it now, that same person is going to have their face regenerated into a … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 11/01/23

Finally, a day with some television to discuss. Although, I feel like my bottom pick is controversial. 11) Saturday Night Live (Peacock) English Audio Description?: No Status: It’s in Season 49, Do You Really Think It Won’t Hit 50? I know he has fans. I know he’s not really from my generation. He actually was fine in Cassandro. But, I didn’t think Bad Bunny was funny. I could talk about the blindness issue of SNL not having audio description, and me using my Spanish skills from my still unfinished DuoLingo course to follow the Espanol segments, but even when Bunny … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 10/22/23

Well, the shoe dropped. ABC officially cancelled Home Economics. It’s an odd decision, considering everything I’ve read suggests that sitcoms are the quickest thing to get back on the air. But, I guess ABC doesn’t feel like it had a place for it.Still to be determined: the fate of The Rookie” Feds. 11) Dinosaurs (Disney Plus) English Audio Description?: No Status: Ended I’m going to pull the trigger finally here and say this show needs audio description. I’ve been letting it off the hook, but this multi-part storyline about war really highlights the need for audio description. I’ve been able … Continue reading The Too Much TV roundup- 09/29/23

Totes forgot to mention, perhaps because it doesn’t have audio description and I stopped watching it, that Dark Winds was renewed for a third season. So, any lingering fans out there, you may celebrate. 11) Adventure Time (MAX) English Audio Description?: No Status: Ended Finn tries to convince a tree trunk to have an adventure. I love that these episodes are so short. Episode Grade: B 10) Futurama (Hulu) English Audio Description?: No Status: Revival Now Running in the season 3 premiere, Bender is affected by a were-car, which of course takes the gang on a strange journey. rarely do … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 09/20/23

Disney and Charter have kinda sorta figured their stuff out. So, Football fans probably enjoyed last nights game. 11) The Masked Singer (Hulu) English Audio Description?: No Status: Presumably Renewed I really wish that this show had audio description. I’ve never really gotten an idea of these elaborate costumes. It would also help with the visual cues in the clue packages the judges don’t immediately say out loud. That being said, while my ears didn’t direct me to the person, the second clue package they gave was so obvious. This was such a disappointing episode, because their idea of best performances … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 09/11/23

The strike has been going on for a lot longer than the studios thought they would. That’s for sure. I haven’t seen another movie abandon ship from 2023 yet. Only movies that cost a lot of money are likely to do so. 14) Desperate Housewives (Hulu) English Audio Description: No Status: Ended I’m finally ten episodes in. And while there were moments I understood, there were plenty I did not. Lots of quiet scenes, or a scene like Felicity Huffman’s mom taking a break to watch her nanny try to get her kids to eat Brussel Sprouts. Disney Plus pulled the plug on The Spiderwick Chronicles TV show. It’s like, they say they want shows beyond just Marvel and Star Wars, but after cancelling Doogie yesterday, and not moving forward with this… do they? What is the actual plan here to not just fill your streaming service with franchise extensions from those two universes? Hell, I haven’t even heard if there will be a second season of Monsters At Work, which really felt like a no brainer. 13) Designing Women (Hulu) English Audio Description?: No Status: Ended you know when Anthony, who is usually just there for … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup-08/26/23

Not really TV news, but it could be. I have finally found a title with audio description on MGM Plus, albeit a movie. I’ve been clicking on random titles, and so far the small list I’ve got includes: The machinist, Dungeons and Dragons honor Among Thieves, Women Talking, 3000 Years Of Longing, The Firm, Failure To Launch, and Lemony Snicket’s A Series Of unfortunate Events. I will keep searching, but I haven’t found a show yet with AD. It would make sense for them to expand to their shows, especially their biggest hit Godfather Of Harlem. 11) Mad Men (AMC … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 08/16/23

I shall predict that the whole thing we aren’t liking about how streaming services are pulling content will be far more common place after the strike is settled, and some of those shows they have to start paying residuals on. So take this strike, and if there is a relatively obscure series on a streaming service right now that you have not seen yet… watch the hell out of it. It likely will get purged. Honestly, I never thought HBo would purge Westworld, so all bets are off. 11) Dark Winds (AMC Plus) English Audio Description?: No Status: not Yet … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 08/08/23

Not a huge list of titles, but I did spend a bulk of the day at a theatre watching Oppenheimer (review coming soon). It has only fueled me even more to talk about audio description, so lets go! 9) Desperate Housewives (Hulu) English Audio Description?: No Status: Ended I feel like this is probably a much better show, but it is quite tough to navigate without audio description. Making an investment in a series with over 100 episodes would be nice for Hulu, and would make what is somewhat a classic TV show available to all. I so rarely get TV news. Two stories in one day! First, Deadline has reported that the Emmy Awards are moving from September to an undetermined date in January. This means while other shows will likely be rewarding the current seasons of shows like The Bear and Only Murders in The Building, the Emmys are still rewarding the past earlier seasons. Also, HBo has renewed The Righteous Gemstones! 11) Dinosaurs (Disney plus) English Audio Description?: No Status: Ended Robbie likes a girl and takes dating advice from his dad, and some new kid Spike, who sounds like he’s being voiced … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 07/27/23

We have some news finally out of comic con. In The Walking Dead Universe, The Walking Dead: Dead City and Daryl Dixon both have gotten second season pickups. Meanwhile, Amazon was able to run a promo for the upcoming second season of Invincible, and Peacock showed off the upcoming John Wick spinoff The Continental, which was originally being developed at Starz. Sadly, that last project is only 3 episodes. 11) The Full Monty (Hulu) English Audio Description?: Yes Status: Limited The thing is, this show is just one of the growing trend of baffling revivals where people are brought back … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 07/21/23
