I haven’t watched it yet, but the new Rick and Morty voice cast premiered last night. Also, I truthfully decided to start watching Step By Step after noticing it on FreeVee, and a few hours later I saw Suzanne Somers died. I’m very weirded out about how that worked out. 9) 9) Fright Crew (Hulu) English Audio Description?: Yes Status: Unknown Eli Roth produced this 10 episode animated show aimed at… I’m not really sure. Eli clearly wants to go hard, so there are some things and themes here that feel targeted for maybe middle school to high school aged … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 10/15/23

Friday The 13th was a very unlucky day for one show. Apple pulled the plug on The After Party after two seasons. I’m not really sure why. It always baffles me when a show I see having a strong social media presence among the people in my feed gets cancelled, because it seems so rare that they ever bother to post about shows. but, while the new season was running, I had friends who were really into it. And I can’t say that for most of Apple plus’s programming (even if I’m a fan). 12) Justified (Hulu) English Audio Description?: … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 10/13/23

Good news! Hulu has picked up only Murders in The Building for a fourth season. Maybe Chevy Chase will get taht Three Amigos reunion he’s been clamoring for. 7) The Irrational (Peacock) English Audio Description?: Yes Status: Not Yet Renewed I get to free up my schedule by a show now. Two episodes. That was enough for me to tell this procedural can’t escape the been there done that feel of all other shows that came before it, where some smart person consults with police. After years of The Mentalist, lie To Me, unforgettable, and many others, there is nothing … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 10/03/23

Well, the WGA has recommended that writers end the strike officially, so things will be written again. I don’t expect to see the fruition of this until next year, except in talk shows, but it happened. Also, I’m not ranking Dancing With The Stars, but I wish the show had audio description like NBC’s The Voice now does. I sat through the first couple couples and then gave up. 10) The Ren and Stimpy Show (Paramount Plus) English Audio Description?: No Status: Ended I’m mostly doing this for my own personal nostalgic trip, but I have to acknowledge that the … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 09/26/23

A tentative deal has been reached between the studios and the writers. The details have yet to be made public, but should be shortly as the membership has to vote on it. An official vote by leadership happens on Tuesday, which will solidify this a bit more, and possibly allow some writers to return to work. Most writers will have to wait until the contract is fully ratified by the WGA as a whole, but writers for talk shows are expected to resume possibly later this week, as all they need is for Tuesday’s vote to pass. 11) Daryl Dixon … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 09/24/23

The studios claim they have made their best and final offer to the WGA,. After four days of negotiations, the two are scheduled to meet again today. I do believe this has to be ratified by the membership, so if there aren’t major concessions made by the studios it won’t pass. Writers haven’t been picketing for 5 months just so AI can start becoming a credited screenwriter. 11) The Continental (Peacock) English Audio Description?: Yes Status: Limited I suppose its possible that if I had never seen the John Wick films, I might have enjoyed this. However, i have seen … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 09/23/23

As I told you several times during my watching of the now final season of The Wonder Years, summer burn offs are never a good sign. ABC has officially cancelled the reboot after two seasons. Home Economics remains in limbo due to the strike, as ABC has extended the options on the cast. 11) Desperate Housewives (Hulu) English Audio Description?: No Status: Ended I just find this show really difficult to follow without audio description. It has such a large cast and a lot going on. It likely is affecting how I’m enjoying the show, as I feel like I’m … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup-09/15/23

Finally! Some TV news. I don’t know which is bigger. Lando has been elevated from a Disney plus series to a full fledged movie, so you can no longer expect it to come to Disney Plus (until after its theatrical run), and Netflix has picked One Piece up for a second season. The latter is kinda of a big deal considering their past anime adaptations haven’t made it to a second season (RIP Cowboy Bebop). Also, Netflix finds it appropriate to release yet another major international title without accessibility for their blind and visually impaired users so I’m considering doing … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 09/14/23

The strike has been going on for a lot longer than the studios thought they would. That’s for sure. I haven’t seen another movie abandon ship from 2023 yet. Only movies that cost a lot of money are likely to do so. 14) Desperate Housewives (Hulu) English Audio Description: No Status: Ended I’m finally ten episodes in. And while there were moments I understood, there were plenty I did not. Lots of quiet scenes, or a scene like Felicity Huffman’s mom taking a break to watch her nanny try to get her kids to eat Brussel Sprouts. It sounded like … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 09/04/23

I saw the upcoming list of shows starting next week, and Virgin River is likely the one most worth mentioning. Though, I am really happy that I Am Groot got a second season. 14) The Lincoln Lawyer (Netflix) English Audio Description?: Yes Status: Renewed Good news for fans, the show got renewed. I actually enjoyed everything I saw yesterday, and this is on the bottom really for two reasons. The first being that this series is still not describing the Spanish dialogue. Hulu is on a cancellation spree. After axing The Great, the drop came for How I Met Your Father which has been cancelled after two seasons. 12) Designing Women (Hulu) English Audio Description?: No Status: Ended In Anthony Jr., Anthony is told he has a son. Oddly enough, until now, I thought his character was gay. Or, at least the equivalent of the time period when having gay characters on TV meant they never really talked about it. Also, what actually happened to Delta Burke’s career? I feel like she should have had more sitcoms after this, and all I … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 09/02/23

Following up on my earlier post about The Great, there are rumors that HBo is looking at picking up the show, as some major stars were already rumored to be joining the Season 4 cast, and the show was apparently in pre-production. Little birds were telling me Jonathan Groff and Laura Linney would have appeared in Season 4. Will HBO save The Great? We will have to wait and see. #11) 911 (Hulu) English Audio Description?: No Status: Moving To ABC i was halfway into season 3 before I got this Eddie centric episode, which not only included combat sequences … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 08/31/23

Well, Amazon done gone and pissed me the hell off. be careful what you wish for kids, because sometimes you get TV news. Amazon, in an effort to endear themselves with their subscribers, has reversed their second season renewals on both The Peripheral and A League of Their Own. The last one was baffling, because I know it was granted a tax waiver, so it was even cheaper to produce (plus, I thought they had already started filming). Apparently, the service that put so many years between seasons of Good Omens that people assumed it was dead, is worried about … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 08/18/23

Not really TV news, but it could be. I have finally found a title with audio description on MGM Plus, albeit a movie. I’ve been clicking on random titles, and so far the small list I’ve got includes: The machinist, Dungeons and Dragons honor Among Thieves, Women Talking, 3000 Years Of Longing, The Firm, Failure To Launch, and Lemony Snicket’s A Series Of unfortunate Events. I will keep searching, but I haven’t found a show yet with AD. It would make sense for them to expand to their shows, especially their biggest hit Godfather Of Harlem. 11) Mad Men (AMC … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 08/16/23

The WGA is attempting to sit down and begin talks again, and we shall see how that progresses. I think the Television Producers would prefer to have writers back first, working on scripts for the actors to actually shoot once they resolve the SAG strike.. 12) The Horror Of Delores Roach (Amazon) English Audio Description?: Yes Status: Not Yet Renewed I keep hoping I’ll like this story more. I want Justina Machado to have a hit new series, I’m just not sure this is it. It’s very much her telling her own version of the story, but it feels clunky. … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 08/10/23
