The Small Screen Diaries- 01/12/24

Apple better be continuing on with For All Mankind. That season finale was a beast, and did exactly what I thought it would. Because the show takes these leaps forward in time, original cast members have to keep being shaved off because there’s only just so much you can age a person. Just like how last season ended with a few original cast members exiting, it’s highly likely that the way certain characters are written, means the end for them on the show (at least as regulars). However, there was one prominent character whose future was not shown, and that … Continue reading The Small Screen Diaries- 01/12/24

Christmas is almost upon us. Yet, Peacock is holding their premiere of the Focus features Holiday Oscar contender, The Holdovers, until Dec 29th. What’s so weird, is that The Last Voyage Of The Demeter still hasn’t found its way, and neither has Oppenheimer. Barbie is on MAX, when is Oppenheimer coming to Peacock? 1) Sex Education (Netflix) English Audio Description?: Yes Status: Final Season The series finale. It was even super-sized so we could call it Sex Education” The Movie. Tonight is the special series finale for Archer, which means I’ll be waiting to see if this thing has audio description on Hulu the next day. Also, this week brings a new season of What If, as well as the new Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. 1) For All Mankind (Apple Plus) English Audio Description By: PixelLogic Narrated By: Darren Polish Status: Unknown Hell hath no fury like Ed after being fired. It looks like also that the show Good Trouble has come to an end. I saw some cast reactions. And, Golden Globe nominations are announced tomorrow morning I do believe. It should be more interesting now that the awards are owned by a different body, and categories were expanded. 1) Sex Education (Netflix) English Audio Description?: Yes Status: Final Season Maeve’s Mom’s funeral day is punctuated by other events, including her strained relationship with Otis, who is also having a strained relationship with Eric, who may or may not be communicating with God. Also, Ruby has had about enough of … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 12/09/23

After waiting a year to unceremoniously cancel the fantastic Riches, Amazon tries to make up for it by giving Reacher an early season 3 renewal. Yeah, not the same type of show, unless Jack Reacher is now played by a black actress, and the show is now about a heritage beauty brand for black people around the world and the family that helped push it to prominence that is now stuck in a Succession-esque fight for control over their dad’s company. I’m pretty sure that’s not the plot of Reacher. I could be wrong though. Who knows where Season 2 … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 12/02/23

I didn’t watch the parade. I broke the Thanksgiving rule. I just wasn’t in the mood. However, I did vegetate a lot in front of the TV. Took a nap. The usual. 1) Everything now (Netflix) English Audio Description?: Yes Status: Not Yet Renewed Nothing says Thanksgiving quite like watching a show about a girl with an eating disorder. But, in the third episode, our lead Mia spends most of the episode in her feelings for this girl she likes, only for the episode to once again not turn out the way she expected. It’s so weird to see her … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 11/23/23

The Too Much TV Roundup- 11/19/23

Yesterday, we lost a former First Lady with Roslyn Carter, who made it to 96. We also lost an actor I had forgotten could still be alive, Joss Ackland, who made for a mean villain in in the Lethal Weapon franchise, but also appeared in 90’s Disney films including A Kid In King Arthur’s Court and the Mighty Ducks films. He looked so old even then, that I never would have imagined he made it to 2023. RIP to both. 1) Get Gotti (Netflix) English Audio Description?: Yes Status: Limited A docuseries chronicling how they finally nailed mafia boss John … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 11/19/23
