I’m not feeling the Pedro Pascal casting as Reed Richards, only because I was really hoping for John Krasinski.I know Pascal is hot right now, with The Last Of Us and The Mandalorian, so it makes sense. but Emily Blunt could have played Invisible Girl, and we know Krasinski can write/direct. Just saying. 1) Shelter (Amazon) English Audio Description?: Yes Status: Not Yet Renewed Well, that was a doozie of a finale. I think this show was always all over the place, until it actually started trying to tie everything together. I’ve yet to see a Harlan show make a … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 11/16/23

A couple of things. It’s like these companies were waiting for the strike to end to start their bad behavior. Immediately following news of the strike ending, Warner Bros celebrated by totally and permanently shelving Coyote Vs Acme, another finished feature project, and using it as a tax write-off. So, once again, a ton of artists worked on a film for months, just so it can live forever in a closet. Meanwhile, ABC should have already known the fates of The Rookie Feds and The Good Lawyer, because as soon as the strike was over, ABC cancelled The Rookie Feds, … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 11/09/23

The fact that I’m hearing that the SAG AMPTA negotiations are being held up over AI really tells me all I need to know about the studios positions. I do hope SAG does not waiver on their counter to many of the terrible ideas these studios were proposing, including owning an actors likeness in perpetuity, simply because they showed up as an extra for one day. People say that AI is the future, and there’s nothing we can do to stop it. If we don’t regulate it now, that same person is going to have their face regenerated into a … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 11/01/23

I do believe as I’m writing this, that the Maine mass shooter is still at large. A tremendous tragedy we seem unable and unwilling to stop, or even attempt to reduce the possibility of recurrence. Yesterday, Paramount Plus did cancel two shows, Rabbit Hole and Fatal Attraction, neither surprised me. 9) SeaQuest DSV (Peacock) English Audio Description?: No Status: Ended I tend to normally give this show a grade. Conceptually, I understand it from watching it as a kid. But this episode, which involved rescuing people from a crashed spaceship that had a virus on it that was killing people, … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 10/26/23

I’m not sure anything major happened in the realm of television yesterday, but I will mention that MAX is rushing The Nun 2 onto the service before Halloween. I was pretty busy, so it’s a short list today. 5) 5) Shelter (Amazon) English Audio Description?: Yes Status: Not Yet Renewed These shows where adults unleash massive conspiracies where teens have to uncover and save the day is just a very odd thing we do in film and television. This show is a lot for these kids. I honestly found more enjoyment in the Phantom auditions, although I call shenanigans. The … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 10/20/23

Your TV news for the day is that the upcoming 3rd season of Vikings: Valhalla will be its last. 11) The Continental (Peacock) English Audio Description?: Yes Status: Limited Thank God this is behind me. I was so over this show. Mel Gibson really gave his all to an unredeemable villain, but as far as the rest goes, this feels nothing like the franchise from which it was adapted. it has so much dialogue, it almost feels like a more violent TV adaptation of oceans 11. A tentative deal has been reached between the studios and the writers. The details have yet to be made public, but should be shortly as the membership has to vote on it. An official vote by leadership happens on Tuesday, which will solidify this a bit more, and possibly allow some writers to return to work. Most writers will have to wait until the contract is fully ratified by the WGA as a whole, but writers for talk shows are expected to resume possibly later this week, as all they need is for Tuesday’s vote to pass. 11) Daryl Dixon … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 09/24/23
