You likely missed this movie. That would be a mistake. Really, almost any time you have the opportunity to catch a film starring Pacino, Walken, and Arkin, you should catch it. Yes, this film has a few problems, but Pacino and Walken specifically make the most out of it.  The plot of the film centers around Val (Pacino), a man recently released from prison after 28 years, spends his first day out with his best friend, Doc (Walken). Little does he know, Doc has actually been told he needs to kill Val before 10AM the next day, or he’ll also get killed. They eat, drink, take boner pills, have sex with hookers, steal cars, enact justice, and talk about the last 28 years.

It’s a small idea movie, really, but that doesn’t matter. Pacino and Walken act the shit out of it, regardless of the little content. And, when it needs to be, Stand Up Guys is actually rather entertaining. My biggest problem is Lucy Punch, and her horrendous American Jersey accent. It comes and goes. Luckily, she’s just a supporting part. Also, the ending is a cop out. I won’t ruin it here, but there’s no way you’ll enjoy this ending.
