Here’s where I believe the FOX lineup will land, now that they have announced their new show pickups:
MONDAY:
800- BONES/ RAKE (midseason)
900- GANG RELATED/ THE FOLLOWING (midseason)
TUESDAY:
800-BROOKLYN NINE-NINE
830- ENLISTED
900- THE NEW GIRL
930- US & THEM/ MINDY PROJECT (MIDSEASON)
WEDNESDAY:
800- X-FACTOR/ AMERICAN IDOL
930- SURVIVING JACK (MIDSEASON)
THURSDAY
800- X-FACTOR RESULTS
900- GLEE
FRIDAY
800- SLEEPY HOLLOW
900- ALMOST HUMAN
SUNDAY
800- THE SIMPSONS
830- BOB’S BURGERS
900- FAMILY GUY
930- AMERICAN DAD/ SONS (MIDSEASON)
I think Raising Hope will be used to plug a hole. It’s a pretty solid sitcom, but it isn’t so big that they need it to use as a launching pad. Putting two new Sci-Fi themed shows on Friday is risky, but one comes from JJ Abrams (Fringe) and the other is called Sleepy Hollow. Grimm was able to do solid numbers for NBC on Friday, and I bet FOX is looking to do something similar with their shows.
The Following is a limited series (Kevin Bacon is only committed to 15 episodes a season), so I bet they’ll hold it for a spring run again. It makes sense to pair it with Rake, putting Greg Kinnear with Kevin Bacon on the same night. It also makes sense for them to use their Sunday night lineup to launch Sons, since it comes from Seth Macfarlane. They did this previously with Macfarlane’s The Winner, and that was a fail, but I’m banking they’ll do it again.
Also, I think they’ll cut down on the amount of two hour Idol shows (and possibly two hour X-Factor shows), and they’ll launch a sitcom in the 930 slot halfway through the season (like they did I Hate My Teenage Daughter). Also, at some point, we’ll see some Kitchen Nightmares episodes, and probably some Cleveland Show episodes (because I don’t think they’ve aired all of them, even though they’ll cancel the show).
