In a bit of a bizarre casting move, Marvel is looking toward notoriously franchise phobic Joaquin Phoenix to play Doctor Strange in the upcoming adaptation. An interesting choice to launch a franchise, considering he has never appeared in a sequel before.
He was replaced by Patrick Dempsey (ironically, who really wants to be Doctor Strange) for Brother Bear 2. And the rest of his choices have been too artistic to be considered for a sequel.
So, other than the fact that people find him strange in real life, is Phoenix being considered for Doctor Strange? And how on earth could they convince him to start a franchise?
