After playing the character of Ben for a few seasons now on Grey’s Anatomy, Jason George has now been made a full series regular on Grey’s Anatomy starting with Season 12 in the fall. Probably a lot of this had to do with Patrick Dempsey leaving, and very few longtime cast members still on board. According to IMDB, he’s already logged 42 episodes prior to being a series regular, which is more than Caterina Scorsone has as Dr. Amelia Shepard, more than Debbie Allen has had as Catherine Avery, and more than beloved Jeffrey Dean Morgan had as Denny. He’s also been a castmember since 2010, making him more senior than newbies Jerrika Hinton, who plays Stephanie, and Camilla Luddington, who plays Jo, as well as newbie Kelly McCreary, who plays Maggie (and another Grey character to continue the story if need be).
