I managed to finally finish Fellow Travelers (Paramount Plus with Showtime), and man that was a fantastic show. Matt Bomer and Jonathan bailey gave fantastic performances, and I really enjoyed and appreciated the audio description. This was Golden Globe nominated, so make sure to check this out. Also, My Life With The Walter Boys (Netflix) is low key working on me. The audio description is below average, but not that far below. It’s one of those things that I’d be lying if I didn’t acknowledge that it could be better, but there are a billion characters in this show, so I’m really trying to cut it a tiny teensie bit of slack. It’s a giant family, and we then also have to focus on everyone’s friends, teachers, lovers, employers, and it’s a lot. I’m not sure what most of them look like, but I just imagine a sea of white people, because that’s how defaulting typically works, and inferred.
The Murder At The End Of The World (Hulu) is getting good, but i still worry they are just going to be like… aha! it’s Clive Owen! To which, I will delete my Hulu, and set my TV on fire for having to watch a giant miniseries where the episodes are feature length, just to find out what is pretty obvious. I’m hoping for a twist. Please. God. A twist.
And then, the twisty of all twists, Bodies (Netflix) is just nuts. Episode six is a lesson in “did you pay attention?” Another show that’s a bitch to follow and describe as they leap across timelines with a large ensemble. I could say the same about The Crown (Netflix), which does have exceptional audio description, especially of the shows I mentioned today, but this episode was boring. The Tony Blair episode. Wasn’t this a movie?
