I just want the world to know, that as a blind film critic, I take on this years Oscar nominees as presented to me. Disney Plus currently has this nominee for Best Documentary Short, and much like they’ve been doing with all their other Oscar hopefuls, they said “hey, you know those blind people? yeah, fuck em. Fuck em hard, the Mickey Mouse way.”
I totally sat through this film which is entirely in another language, so i could write a review that pointed out that yet again, Disney Plus has put out another Oscar film without audio description.Bobby Wine: The People’s President and the Last Repair Shop don’t have audio description either. At least one of those is entirely in English, and the other is almost entirely in English. this is 100% not in English.
It’s rumored to be some tribute to grandparents. You know which film also had aging people in it this year? The Eternal memory, which is not in the English language, but Paramount Plus sprung for audio description.
I couldn’t grade this if I tried. Disney has failed miserably. If this was under my consideration, I wouldn’t be able to because there’s no functional way as a blind person for me to watch this without crash coursing a full language on Duolingo. Who has that time?
Final Grade: highly Unwatchable
Projected Grade With Audio Description?: Unknown
