And we’re back for a full list of all the shows I’m watchin, or trying to watch, as new shows enter, some finish, and others get the dreaded “remove from watchlist”. Attempting to join and stay on the list this week are The Secret Lives Of Mormon Wives (Hulu), Motorheads (Amazon), Love Death and Robots (Netflix), She the People (Netflix), Sirens (Netflix), Tucci In Italy (Hulu), Nine Perfect Strangers (Hulu), Yellowstone (Peacock), and Dark Winds (Netflix). WINNER: The Handmaids Tale (Hulu) with audio description- I know people who watch this in real life, and those ladies cried. I told them to watch ASAP, and they heeded, and loved the penultimate episode. Brutal and brilliant. I can’t wait to see how this show finishes, because this final season has been legendary.
Runner Up: Hacks (MAX)- with audio description- I’m five episodes deep, and with other shows ending likely before I finish Hacks, it is certain to return to the top spot.
#3- The Studio (Apple Plus) with audio description- Final rankings. It has been picked up for a second season, and I’m excited to see more from this creative team and the cast. A sure thing at the Emmys this year.
#4- The Last Of us (MAX) with audio description- Season finale tonight, so it will be exiting along with Handmaids next week. the last episode was so well structured, and a beautiful farewell to Pedro Pascal.
#5- Etoile (Amazon) with audio description- I’m a sucker for Amy Sherman Palladino’s shows, and this ballet drama serves every episode. I will cry if Amazon dumps it. There’s nothing else like it on right now. Be bold, take risks.
#6- Poker Face (Peacock) with audio description- 2 episodes into the new season, and I’m sure Peacock is sticking with it. It seems primed for Emmy nominations this year, in the guest categories, and for Lyonne.
#7- Last Week Tonight (MAX) no audio description- Always the highest ranked show with no audio description.
#8- From (MGM Plus) with audio description- I’m now into the second season, and the new entries should make for an interesting set of wildcards.
#9- Sirens (Netflix) with audio description- I’m two episodes in and I’m in love. The show centers around two sisters, with history behind them, and wealth between them, as well as a stunning Julianne Moore. Honestly, I’m not a fan of limited shows being turned into returning shows, but right now I feel like I could watch this forever. It also has truly excellent audio description, especially the pilot.
#10- Murderbot (Apple Plus) with audio description- This is a fun show, very up my alley, and I look forward to the next episode. I’m fully caught up.
#11- Black Mirror (Netflix) with audio description- I’m still in season 1, but the hype absolutely seems to be real.
#12- Bet (Netflix) with audio description- I’ve seen backlash online to this show. I’m not familiar with the source material, but I’m loving this show and its whole vibe. It is darkly funny, and I’m rooting for this girl to get her revenge.
#13- Midcentury Modern (Hulu) with audio description- I’m down to two more episodes, and I’m worried Hulu won’t renew this. I feel like I don’t get lucky, and seeing this run like the gay Golden Girls would make me happy. I just don’t think it will. I do think Linda Lavin is a contender maybe for a surprise Supporting Actress nomination this year, if they campaign for her.
#14- Jurassic World: Chaos theory (Netflix) with audio description- I’m a fan of the whole animated Jurassic world, perhaps far more than some of those films. the storytelling is actually really good. If the new film sucks, they should let this team write one. A live action Camp Cretaceous/Chaos theory?
#15- Elzabeth (Paramount Plus) with audio description- I’m close to finishing the season here as well. Already renewed. Can we get a Good Wife cameo next season? or Good Fight? Alan Cumming would be hilarious in this show. He should do a little arc.
#16- Your Friends And neighbors (Apple Plus) with audio description- Admittedly, this prestige drama has slid a bit down the list, but it is still a solid show. I’m becoming less certain of its Emmy chances though.
#17- the Daily Show (Paramount Plus) no audio description- Only watched one technically, but I also watched Jordan Klepper’s side hustle.
#18- Nine Perfect Strangers (Hulu) with audio description- A really strong cast, this could be good. It also is a second season of a show originally intended as a limited. Then again, with how successful White Lotus has been, I shouldn’t be that surprised.
#19- Pop Culture Jeopardy (Amazon) with audio description- I think I’m 19 episodes deep.
#20- Jeopardy Masters (Hulu) with audio description- So, Victoria is winning again, right? We all know that?
#21- Ghosts (Paramount Plus) with audio description- I’m also almost done with the fourth season as well. Next week could be its last for a while.
#22- Overcompensating (Amazon) with audio description- Up from last week. This show is growing on me. Not every show needs a killer pilot, sometimes they leg out and get stronger. This college comedy had a really nice third episode.
#23- You (Netflix) with audio description- Man, that twist. I can’t wait to see how that finishes. I have so many questions right now.
#24- #1 Happy family USA (Amazon) with audio description- Another show I hope Amazon sticks behind. for whatever reason, adult animation seems to have no problem getting to Season 2. It becomes harder after that.
#25- Forever (Netflix) with audio description- Don’t go breaking my heart. I’m halfway through this, and I did not read the book. Where are we headed?
#26- The Walking Dead: Dead City (AMC Plus) no audio description- Is *spoiler* really working with the other side? Is Negan right?
#27- Wondla (Apple plus) with audio description- fun and adventure for the whole family. Not a show for just little kids, but a well written sci-if adventure the whole family can watch.
#28- The Pitt (MAX) with audio description- What a bounce back. I gave the show a second shot, and while I still can’t root for an Emmy, it is now in the top half of the shows I’m watching.
#29- Duster (MAX) with audio description- this show also bounced up. I did like episode 2, which featured Adrienne Barbeau, and also Patrick Warburton.
#30- The Stolen Girl (Disney Plus) no audio description- The mystery is interesting. the show is at times hard to follow, but I still am invested in knowing how and why this sausage got made, so to speak.
#31- Top Chef (Peacock) with audio description- I’m down to the final six. Should be three more episodes, maybe four. I think three.
#31- American Idol (Hulu) no audio description- get yourself some damn audio description you old ass bitch. Every other reality show around you that has run as long as you have has audio description. Fucking SNL has audio description. What is your problem?
#33- Drag Race All Stars (Paramount Plus) with audio description- YASSS. Next week we get a new block of queens.
#34- Motorheads (Amazon) with audio description- Feels like it could have been on The CW at the same time as The Vampire Diaries, Arrow, and those other shows. I’m here for it, though it isn’t great TV. It just is.
#35- The Rehearsal (MAX) with audio description- Still finishing season 1.
#36- The Four Seasons (Netflix) with audio description- While it has improved, it still feels like some missed potential at times, and weak writing. This cast can only do just so much. The audio description is fine, I mean the writing for the show that has hurricanes appear out of nowhere.
#37- Yellowstone- (Peacock) with audio description- I finally decided to see how the show ends, so I’m watching the last few episodes. The first one back was rough, so this ranking is higher due to preexisting goodwill. I own a Yellowstone t-shirt. this show should be higher.
#38- Octopus (Amazon) with audio description- I finished this delightful two part docuseries. A spot will be freed up next week.
#39- Bosch Legacy (Amazon) with audio description- 2 episodes into the final season. Not much to say so far.
#40- The Great North (Hulu) no audio description- Kind of like comfort food I can watch whenever.
#41- SNL (Peacock) with audio description- I still have a few episodes until I finish the season.
#42- Survivor (Paramount Plus) with audio description- I mean, I literally had two of my favorites in the top three, and they picked the other one. Otherwise, I’d rank it higher.
#43- Ransom Canyon (Netflix) with audio description- 2 episodes left. Virgin River meets Yellowstone definitely needs to stay ranked below Yellowstone.
#43- 911 (Hulu) with audio description- that last episode I saw, which isn’t the most recent episode, went where I didn’t think it would go.
#44- Love Death and robots (Netflix) with audio description- A nice little detour. Fun ideas. well described. Super inconsequential so far.
#45- Got To Get Out (Hulu) with audio description- This is a well described show, and it has Omarosa, who is perfect for reality TV. Has she done survivor yet? How about The Traitors?
#46- Will Trent (Hulu) with audio description- That season finale was bonkers. Ramon Rodriguez spent the whole episode trying to stop everyone, and save everything.
#47- No Man’s land (Hulu) with audio description- I’m 2 episodes into the first season, and I’m impressed. There’s some English in here. i do with AD companies would default to paying for the best audio description, not cost cutting measures, like having Dave read every non-English character.
#48- Yes Chef (Peacock) with audio description- This has been a decent new reality entry so far.
#49- The Secrets We Keep (Netflix) with audio description- Yes, the audio description is TTS. It is also frustratingly not terrible.
#50- Battle Camp (Netflix) with audio description- I’m almost done, and I feel like too many people remain. How many people are in the finale for this show?
#51- Krapapolis (Hulu) no audio description- A mostly fun show. i wish audio description didn’t come to it like way down the line. I’m not even caught up, and my episodes don’t have audio description.
#52- Grimmsburg (Netflix) with audio description- still rewatching season 1 with audio description.
#53- Government Cheese (apple plus) with audio description- the last episode I watched was the best so far.
#54- Bad Thoughts (Netflix) with audio description- the episodes are really short, and I’m half through the show. I expect to finish it.
#55- Devil May cry (Netflix) with audio description- i did finish this show last week, so it frees up a spot next week.
#56- Lazarus (MAX) with audio description- I’m 7 episodes in. I like some of the concepts. the audio description is just OK.
#57- Dark Winds (Netflix) without/with audio description- I’ll try and make it to the point where audio description supposedly kicks in.
#58- the Kardashians (Hulu) with audio description- I need to start Season 2.
#59- Berlin ER (Apple Plus) with audio description- I’m holding onto the idea that I will finish this show. will I? I don’t know. I almost have.
Removed From Watchlist: the Traitors UK (Peacock)- I don’t intend on finishing. Mobland (Paramount Plus) in the third episode, after we see a dismembered body in the second episode, Tom Hardy picks up the decapitated head and just stares at it. did he need a better look, or does the show need better writers? Tucci In Italy (Hulu)- Instant death. No audio description and the show is a lot of Italian. The Secret Lives Of Mormon Wives (Hulu)- I’d rather watch The Kardashians and that says a lot. She the People (Netflix)- One of the worst and least funny shows of the year.
