You- So, it wasn’t the bad finale I was expecting. I was aware they had a different ending planned, and i was afraid that they were shifting things around because they thought joe and dexter had the same franchise viability. Luckily, we were mostly spared that, but I also didn’t love this finale. We almost got a great finale the episode prior, but they made this decision, so they have to live with it. Even this episode had a different AD writer, which suggests to me that Netflix did some last minute changes which affected how this episode was written. Still, great audio description though.
The Buccaneers- They’re back in England now, and there’s still relationship drama. Of course there is. james is an ass. I know divorce was never really in the cards for women back then, but we have to do something about James.
Motorheads- He’s gonna lose that car to Harris isn’t he? Harris is one of the least likeable characters in a series I’m watching. the fact that he has the audacity to try and move onto his side chick, and then be upset that she gave up on waiting for him, just makes him look like more of a tool. Who voted for this guy for Prom King? Who actually enjoys spending time with him other than Noah, and why?
The Survivors- Thought this was a five episode limited. Guess not. Though, a lot was revealed in this episode that made the series more interesting, so I’m OK with seeing this out for another episode. that soccer match was crazy.
Euphoria- Coleman Domingo is here for five minutes, but he does so much with what is basically an extended monologue. Also, I really loved rue breaking down the art of dick pics, and the audio description that had to focus on the flashing of dicks.
Kings Of Johburg- Moe is starting to get his revenge, and most people agree that the murder in the first episode was a bad thing, but there’s a struggle for power. This series isn’t quite as marketed, but really is just a straight crime drama.
Patience- A neurodivergent detective. I can’t wait for CBS or ABC to make the American version of this in a season or two from now. This feels like the kind of thing someone would do, and then have it paired on the same night as Will Trent and high Potential. Also, is this audio description AI? I don’t watch a lot of PBS programming, but I truly expected a British voice, since it is a show form the UK. instead, it was a pretty monotone voice, and the writing was just OK. No credits. Weird.
Last Week Tonight- After watching this, I feel like I deserve bonus points for not generating AI content. This is all my writing, in case you can’t figure that out for yourself.
The Guilded Age- Baranski is my favorite thing about this. I don’t watch this show for me, so be prepared to be underwhelmed by my opinions on this. I don’t get it. I suppose the audio description is fine, but I was struggling to stay awake, which was my problem for the first two seasons. Sometimes, we watch what other people watch. My thought on the audio description is that I already don’t remember anyone, so this expansive ensemble, I’d be more lost without audio description. There’s a chance I might like this more if I could see, and had facial recognition, because it has actors I like, but don’t have their voices memorized (Kelli O’Hara- who I can pick out her singing, but not acting).
