Daryl Dixon- this season is trying my patience, not just from a lack of accessibility, but also a storytelling perspective. I just do not care about this season at all.
The Sisters Grimm- This is charming. two sisters, whose parents are missing, are shoved through the foster system until eventually they land at their Grandmother’s, who is happy to have them, and together they’ll find out what happened to their parents and learn more about this strange town full of Ever Afters. All those stories they’ve heard their whole lives might actually be true. A cute spooky adjacent show for the whole family. Adults won’t be driven too insane by this, and it plays broadly enough to appeal to maybe 6-12 year olds as a target demo? Ariel Winter is the voice of the older sister.
The Terminal List: dark Wolf- well. It’s over. I’m not even sure I’m enthused enough to write a review. I’m sure people liked it, but I just thought it was unnecessary, and the previous series was better. the audio description is solid. Could there be a second season? Why not? This show shouldn’t exist and it does. Maybe it will.
Hotel Hysteria- Jesse Williams continues to sleepwalk through a show with a season long mystery that should be more interesting than it is, and weekly mysteries that are OK, but he has zero charisma. I’ve enjoyed him in things before, but not this. Seriously though, am i understanding the credits? Is this Joel’s description? It’s not bad.
Rick And Morty- This show has excellent audio description. I don’t think they plan on running this show much longer, so enjoy it while it lasts. They aren’t looking to run forever like The Simpsons. Isn’t it crazy to think how long that has been running?like, if you’ve been watching the whole time, you could have been a kid who grew up with it, and had your own kid, who in turn could have had their own kid. You could be watching this with three generations easy, four if your parents were still alive and watched it with you back in the day. I know I should talk about Rick and Morty, so… did you know the actress who voices summer is Kelsey Grammer’s daughter? frasier’s daughter is Summer. She also starred on a show called Greek back in the day. fun fact.
Have I got News For You- the best bit here just required that you know Michael Ian Black is white.
SNL- Bad Bunny hosts, but isn’t the musical guest. I’m still trying to figure out that sweet spot for audio description, which isn’t yet the next day. Some cool cameos from Benecio del Toro and Jon Hamm, as well as Huntrex. I liked the cold open, but James Austin Johnson was slipping out of the voice a bit. the last sketch was really dumb, and I’m not sure audio description would have helped. they did introduce one new cast member during Weekend Update in a funny bit, but the best part of the episode had to be Dobby. I was dead. Such a spot on impersonation.
The rainmaker- Meh. Some characters made choices I thought were frustrating. This isn’t a great series. I don’t know why she tossed the cell phone. Like she wouldn’t find it useful later on? Really? She also gave up on 911 pretty fast. The audio description is fine though.
