Ginny and Georgia- Paul finds out Georgia’s truth and rips that rug out so fast her head spun. So, Georgia, in a crisis moment, tris to run, but decides not to. She also finally slept with someone, which was a long time coming. She is one of the most difficult adults to like on television. Also, is Abby really casually admitting to an eating disorder, and her friends are just… moving on from that? Seriously? Oh, but we need to talk about Marcus, who is clearly drinking to help his depression. Pick a lane.

The Last Frontier- Engaging, fun, and over the top at times, this show is doing a solid job of building characters, and holding some tension from episode to episode. there’s a mystery here, not as great as something like From, but a mystery to propel the story. it won’t win any Emmy’s, but three episodes in, and I easily recommend. Unlike some other shows, it trends up with each episode, and hasn’t leveled off yet. Right now, my grade would be between 7.5-8.0, but I could see this being 8.0-8.5, or maybe even higher if they can pull a doozie of a twist.

DMV- I thought the pilot was the stronger episode, and now we have to see the day to day lives. Customers will suck. We know that. The DMV is not fun. But, if I could suggest DMV possibly take a page from Superstore, and try different levels, and really find that rhythm with your ensemble, it might work. This didn’t really trend up or down, and stagnated a bit. I still lean fresh, but I was ready for more Tim Meadows, who for the second time this year is still the best thing about the show he is in.

Ghosts- Love this show. Five seasons in, and while I thought moving away from jay’s storyline was a bit fast, we now have the ghosts fighting to do good deeds to get sucked off, and Thor’s son has a wedding. A solid episode, and the bit about being on hold all day long was hilarious. “Press any number, or say anything to end the call.” lol.

911 Nashville- Oh my god they killed off Chris O’Donnell! Of course they didn’t. In the LEAST suspenseful cliffhanger perhaps ever, the most bankable star for the new 911 spinoff wasn’t killed. Shocking. Quite literally, considering the fact he was struck by lightning. Roy’s narration here continues to make me happy, for an ABC program. While neither 911 Nashville or Shifting gears are my favorite drama or comedy on ABC, they are the ones with the best description.

Pop Culture Jeopardy- I finished. After 30+ weeks. I saw the re casting next season, which will run on Netflix. The winner? Who cares. I’m done! On a more serious note, shout out to Roundabout, who managed to make one of, if not the strongest, audio description for a game show I’d heard this year. yup. Roundabout. I give credit where it’s due, and this understood the assignment.

Matlock- Bullshit. I call bullshit. This episode was beneath them. Maddie creatively stole the paper last episode, and somehow Olivia thinks to check her safe… just in case? But then… the papers Maddie has are fakes, because Olivia made FAKES just in case someone broke into her safe, and stored the real ones somewhere else? Come on. Really? There’s being ready for anything, and then also being prepared for illogical one in a million solutions. I can have all the insurance in the world, but a plane could still land on my house. While I’m in it. So, it would be silly to show someone who when the plane comes in about to crash into the house, all of a sudden the “just in case” force field appears out of nowhere. Aha! come on.

The rainmaker- This made me even more frustrated. Having just watched The Perfect Neighbor, where that cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs lady shot through a closed door, and it took them a while to arrest her thanks to stand your ground, you’re telling me Rudy is immediately booked, for a guy who broke into a house that isn’t his, armed with a weapon, with a history of abusing his wife, and Rudy just gets put in jail immediately? Bullshit. And then they have to call Bruiser in who is all worried that this case won’t go Rudy’s way. Please. Make a more logical storyline about a law that has gotten far too many people off. If not for me, then do it for trayvon Martin. Do it for all the people who have been victims of the stand your ground defense when it has been broadly applied in situations it didn’t belong. yes, ther’es a happy ending here, but this was never a realistic portrayal of this, and it pissed me off.

Loot- I’m not really sure what the direction or plan is for finishing out the show, and I’m not sure they know either. But, I’m gonna trust that eventually this talented cast will head in the right direction, because this felt like treading water. some cute moments, like with the fast food restaurant randomness, but others just didn’t work.

Say Something!
