Hal and Harper- If you don’t have Mubi, that’s fine. they don’t have AD. they do make a few films with AD, and could start to make their service accessible, but they run a lot of really indie movies. I wanted to give them a try, as if you’ve kept up with these Diaries/Roundups, you’d know I’ve dabbled with CrunchyRoll, BET Plus, Acorn, BritBox, Broadway HD, Starz, all with the hopes of drawing attention to accessibility. So Mubi is in the game, and this is their big new original series. from Cooper rafe (Cha Cha Real Smooth) comes, what I can tell, a show about friendship? Maybe love? Parenting? I’m not really sure. After one episode, it isn’t really obvious. It isn’t bad, but it feels like I watched the first 30 minutes of a two-hour movie.I’ll probably finish, as I did enjoy Rafe’s last project, but I don’t know what else is on the horizon to keep Mubi on here.
All Her Fault- After an intriguing premiere, the show moves predictably forward exactly where you think it will. This show has gotten a lot of acclaim, and I’m guessing the twists and turns lie mostly in the back half of the show. Right now, you still have the typical missing child beats, like the canvassing that happens here. The performances will continue to build. The audio description was fine. It was a pretty simple episode.
Has Been Hotel- I want to be a fan of this. I’m really interested in watching the live version of this, but the second episode basically has an angel question everything about her existence when she learns it is possible for a soul in hell to be redeemed. And then she sings her feelings.
Boston Blue- Someone is breaking into homes, and Danny is on the case. Someone swings by, and I have a feeling it would be someone from Blue Bloods if I watched Blue Bloods, because they are from Danny’s past. I laughed when Danny is trying too work something out, and his partner pretends to be his father as a sounding board, though she sounds nothing like Tom Selleck, and just like what Donnie Wahlberg would if he pretended to be an old man. The audio description was fine, I couldn’t find any faults.
Breaking Bad- I have no idea where I am anymore. I tried using AI to help me, but it kept telling me I was in different episodes and seasons. I think the Season 4 stuff could be on the right path. Walt just learned Skylar’s secret, and is mad about it. Mike has to rein him in, bring him to Saul, to talk sense into him. Meanwhile, Gus is keeping track, and Jesse is able to make a near perfect replica of what Walt did. Mike has to choose between the federal gig or staying local to track down who is making blue meth. Diane Newman and DVW made some excellent audio description on this. I love it. Great show to finally catch up on.
