And we are back with five shows. Huzzah!
TV Shows Watched: Stranger things: S5E5 (Netflix) with audio description, The American Revolution: S1E4 (PBS) with audio description, Sheriff Country: S1E? (Paramount Plus) with audio description, The Beatles Anthology: S1E3 (Disney Plus) with audio description, and Loot: S3E8 (Apple Plus) with audio description
Stranger Things- We’re back. Surprisingly, no deaths this episode. I feel like we are all waiting for that show to drop. Which person has been deemed the most expendable thanks to the writers? If I was a betting man, I don’t see Hopper or Max surviving the season. I could see Steve or Murray being tacked on as a third. I actually believe Jane will be just fine. The audio description is persistently excellent, and I have no notes. There was some gore, some weird sci-fi stuff to describe, and it is all lovely. It is tough when you have one narrator you love being replaced with another narrator you love, like mommy and daddy are fighting. the only reason I would choose is simply for cohesiveness for binge watchers, but this is still excellent audio description.
The American revolution- Remmeber when I said I started this on Christmas, but didn’t finish? I finished. I’m kind of obsessed. Plus, apparently I was heavily involved in the American Revolution, so you’re welcome. The AD has to navigate a lot of narration, like.. A LOT, so there really isn’t much, but you don’t notice it.
Sheriff Country- Momma bear watches her daughter get arrested, in an episode with a flashback that shows she didn’t do it. So she sets out to solve the crime, and get her daughter out of jail. Solid AD, and I like this show more than I thought I would.
The Beatles Anthology- I’ve said before, the AD here is in a rock/hard place situation, since there’s so much music, and the assumption is people would want to hear it. So, the AD here is sparse, but I understand why, and sympathize with the dilemma.
Loot- A makeup and a breakup? Sure. the AD. Is fine, and I wonder if this show is about to push two characters together that have no chemistry. There’s a hint of that here, but I’ve seen MJ Rodriguez’s character paired with at least one guy during this show she actually connected with. Please don’t do what I think you want to do…
