The Small Screen Diary substitute: 01/12/26

Welcome. I didn’t want to drop off the face of the planet yesterday, but I straight up did not have time. I also work at a school, and yesterday was the first day, and my God. plus, we have a musical that auditioned, which consumed my time. Even my free time was spent absorbing that show to be better prepared for the audition. Now, those of you who read me or these things regularly likely know I also have a YouTube (YouTube.com/macthemovieguy), and not everything that I post there makes it here, and vice versa. Quite frankly, I just do not have the time, and since I make absolutely no money, I do have to split my time with something that does. still, I somehow manage to watch and review as much as I do, which is far more than most. As such, I did amass a list of films. Over 500. Did they all have audio description? Sadly, No. But by pointing out the fault in their stars, I hope to remind them that their fault, dear reader, but by themselves. The original quote, from Julius Caesar carefully explores that fate is not responsible for our destiny, but rather putting the responsibility on the individual, in this case, the companies choosing to not provide the description. it is their fault, and no one else’s. As a special treat for you today, I bring you a secret list. I haven’t yet revealed my Top 25 of the year on my channel, so here’s a modified version celebrating those who achieved audio description. the Top 25 Films Of 2025 That Had Audio Description:

Of course, this is subjective, and my favorites are listed based on my feelings at the end of the year, not driven purely by score alone. All 25 films have available audio description. For this list, I cut out any that did not. I have reviews for most of these, though I am admittedly still behind, and in a game of perpetual catch up.
