The Traitors- Again, thanks for the great audio description. I’m in therapy now as the two most interesting characters left. One of whom I would have enjoyed seeing in the final four, and the other is that wildcard you have to keep around as long as possible. Is five episodes enough? Without spoiling too much, if I was a faithful after this episode, I’d be voting Colton. I think it looks like he sacrificed a Traitor early on to be a Traitor hunter, and since then has used his influence to target strong personalities that would challenge him. He reads very much like a traitor, even though he isn’t. If I was a Traitor, I’d kill off someone who isn’t bringing much to the table, and would remain a head scratcher, like Mark. No one would ever believe he was chosen or is playing a traitor game, and his level of contribution is low. They need Durinda, because I would logically assume a Housewife was chosen, and there were five, they’ve lost two. One of the three must be one, and Durinda at bare minimum provides them temporary cover. The AD is better. I appreciate it.
The Pitt- poor baby. And, I know it’s weird, but when we got to the penis scene, the way the thing is described, is as if we can see it. So… did y’all see an erect penis on The Pitt? Did you see them drain the blood from it? I’m so curious. There used to be this thing about showing penises, and how they weren’t allowed to be erect. I think standards have gone out the door, so I’d buy it.
Tracker- More solid Tracker, more solid audio description. but that whole secret spy thing that dominated the first couple episodes was more interesting than the standard operating procedure that followed. I wasn’t bored with tracker, until someone showed me what it could be, and now it feels more boring than it is.
Landman- Why this is getting awards acclaim is beyond me. The writing here is awful. I don’t think there’s a woman in the writers room, not even as an assistant getting coffee. Just a bunch of dudes, living out fantasies of a silly college aged cheerleader daughter, and whatever the fresh hell they make Ali Larter do every episode. Where are my Bechdel Test people at?
The Morning Show- I liked the save Bradley portion, which brought Jon Hamm back around. Corey, meanwhile, mourns his mom like she was suffering. She killed herself out of boredom. She gave a big speech about having done and seen everything, and just being bored and ready to die.He talks about her like she was in pain or something. If you want to sell that narrative, his mom needed to be introduced a while ago. Season 4’s writing has been clunky. I’d drop it from Emmy consideration. Aniston has done good work, but she’s been better.
Matlock- Olympia has to defend her mom as her mom’s new husband is wrapped up in a court trial. They take their shot at the King, but it fails, so they have to move to a second plan, which might involve Julian. Maddie also has to worry about introducing her grandson to his father, now that he’s out of rehab. If you enjoy Coldplay’s Fix you, wait till the end.
