The Small Screen Diaries: 01/23/26

TV Shows Watched: The Traitors: S4E6 (Peacock) with audio description, Sheriff Country: S1E6 (Paramount Plus) with audio description, I Love LA: S1E5 (HBo MAX) with audio description, The Masked Singer: S14E3 (Disney Plus) no audio description, and A Man On The Inside: S2E6 (Netflix) with audio description

Special Shout Out to Disney, for hiring someone to be in charge of accessibility for Disney Plus, who found it too difficult to make sure Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere could launch with audio description. Stay classy, Disney. Drawing creativity from diversity? Sure. Performative. Actually making it important enough to make sure your own films end up on your own service with audio description is not a huge ask.

The Traitors- No spoilers. Someone went home, but made some good points. the challenge was a haunted house, and really took full advantage of the improved AD. If I were a faithful, I’d vote Colton. It I were a Traitor, I’d murder someone suspicious of Colton.

Sheriff Country- Didn’t initially think I’d still be watching, but this CBS procedural has kept its head above water. The grandfather has a friend who is killed, and he gets involved in the investigation, since the likely killer is an old friend from his criminal days. The AD is solid here. A good day for AD thus far.

I Love LA- So many little things made me laugh, from the casual nature of sending someone a nude accidentally, to the accountability bros, and then the one character walking in on another who was masturbating to porn playing on a large TV Screen. Nice audio description.

The Masked Singer- Sorry, spoilers, but you eliminated Taraji P Henson first in Group 3? I’m shocked. Like, I feel like you save her for later, being as big as she is. Sending her packing intrigues me as to who the others are. If I see some random reality star stumble out, I’m gonna be upset. She sang well.

A Man On The Inside- There’s a dinner party of sorts, and meanwhile the hopeful future wife who is actually the real wife in real life hung out with the daughter, who I now wish was actually their daughter. Emily was happy until talk of marriage came up. She doesn’t seem to want her dad to marry again. Come on. Put these two together. their chemistry is actually there. Danson and Steenburgen should get a third season for that alone.

Say Something!
