Starfleet Academy- For all the fans, this one is for you. You’ve been writing to the creators, your letters covered in tears, begging, “Sir. Dear Sirs. Can we please have a debate episode? We’re so over with space exploration, we’d love to see people in Star Trek doing mundane things our kids do in their schools.” I loved when the teacher pulled a great philosophical quote, waiting to see if any of the students knew who it was from, only for the writers to make up some random from the23rd century. So, the same guy who still listens to the Magic flute can’t pull an old quote from Socrates or one of his contemporaries? Sometimes, I forget the show has audio description, because I’m laughing at the absurdity of how terrible this show is, and somehow persists to be.
Wonder Man-this,however, is the best thing Marvel ahs done in a while. Thunderbolts was my favorite Marvel project of either film or television, and I’m easily putting this above that. This is quickly becoming one of the best MCU shows. I thought Trevor being here would be stupid, but Ben Kingsley is killing it, and the show is excellent. The AD is excellent as well.
the Beast In Me- Just as she gets closer, we start to see the pieces fall into place. We know what Nile is capable of, and I’m so excited to see how this concludes. Claire Danes and Matthew Rhys are sublime, and the AD from IDC is really quite strong.
Hijack- The best thing I can say, is that Elba’s Sam is forced to be in a seemingly identical situation, but this time he’s made to look like a bad guy, but we know he isn’t. They’re hoping the unanswered questions will propel us, but it is riding on fumes for me. Elba is the only reason I’m watching, and I’d be floating this in the Rotten realm right now. Season 1 was fine, but perhaps, that is all we needed to do. It’s a little like how Gerard Butler fell three times, when all we ever needed was once, and the other two times feel like a stretch never justified.
Going Dutch- I loved this show last year. I’m glad it’s back. I wish they ported the AD to Disney Plus. It’s a solid sitcom.
