TV Shows Watched: The Last Frontier: S1E10 (Apple) with audio description, Ponies: S1E3 (Peacock) with audio description, Sheriff Country: S1E7? (Paramount Plus) with audio description, Simon Cowell’s Next Act: S1E4 (Netflix) with audio description, and Name That Tune: Season Finale (Disney Plus) no audio description
The Last Frontier- Fully intend to review at a greater length, but a fine example of how one person who only watched the first episode would have a very different experience than those who stayed. The payoff was well worth it. They did leave the door open a little for a Season 2, but the show got axed. Honestly, had they just wrapped a little bit more up, it would be a satisfying Limited Series.
Ponies- I like this show with the ladies learning to espionage. It’s clever. The audio description narration is too flat for my liking, as it almost fights the mounting tension at times. I’d say there are a few moments in here where the narration was so flat, so contradictory to what was happening, it makes the case for performative, for no other reason than being aware of rising and falling action.
Sheriff Country- Mickey goes after a teacher sleeping with his students. Pretty self explanatory. The AD was fie.
Simon Cowell’s Next Act- His boy band hopefuls sing (and rap?) hoping to secure a place. However, not everyone can move forward. The eventual band December 10th (I’m not kidding) has a song out right now. If you’re curious, check out Run My Way. While the song just released on Jan 30th, it seems to have peaked at 72 in the UK, and isn’t charting in America. Honestly, it isn’t bad for what it is. Give them a listen if you wanted a new boy band.
Name that Tune- Genie In A Bottle. I’m shocked that no one got Genie In A Bottle. Come, come, come on and get your shit together.
