Vladimir- Rachel Weisz stars in this, and it is a fun little entry. It starts off a bit directionless, so I’m not sure if this is a series of consequence yet, but Weisz is a professor, her husband (Slattery) is a professor, there’s a bit of a scandal, their daughter returns home, and a new faculty member (Leo Woodhall) joins the ranks, immediately catching Weisz’s eye. It gets horny pretty fast, though is not nearly as sexually explicit as like 500 other shows. If you’ve watched Bridgerton or Heated Rivalry, you’ll be fine (so far). IDC is doing the audio description, and I believe it is Emily Grove and Julian Smith. I believe. Nice audio description, though it is frustrating to seemingly know the name of everyone but our lead.
Shrinking-It’s clunky how in the same episode, Meg spends all this time with Jimmy, tells him that she’s going to be moving her dad back to Connecticut, but then hooks up with Jimmy. Obviously, the show would be pointless without Harrison Ford, so maybe they are finding a reason for Meg to stay, while also creating an interesting dynamic for jimmy and Paul moving forward? That’s my thought. Good series though, and while I always need Ford to get the Emmy nomination, Michael Urie has been making a strong case for why there should be two nominees from this show.
All’s Fair- This show is so trashy, I’m almost here for it. I had the privilege of hearing Sarah Paulson, an Emmy winning actress, shout “your cum is watery!” They just HAD to know the show they were making was awful. I refuse to believe they took this seriously. This has to be these women camping it up on purpose. It is the most fascinating train wreck.
Stumble- NBC still hasn’t renewed the show, though it does well for them. It’s a cute ensemble, and I’ve been noticing people discussing it online, which can be a good sign. The audio description is trying, but it is hard to get everything in.
Has Been Hotel- You can tell how much I love this show, since I casually remember to watch another episode. I really wish I liked the show more. It is right up my alley, but I don’t think it is quite as funny as it thinks it is. The AD is usually fine.
How To Get To Heaven From Belfast- I’ve never watched Dairy Girls, but this isn’t pulling me in. It makes me feel how I felt about Bad Sisters, which was that I just couldn’t latch onto the dark comedy.I want to. It has these fleeting moments where it hits me, or tickles my fancy, but mostly I’m bored. The AD is nice though. Either this or Vladimir had the best AD of the day.
The Daily Show- Jon interviews the Mayor of San Jose, who is running for Governor of California.
