The Small Screen Diaries: 04/02/26

TV Shows Watched: Daredevil Born Again: S2E3 (Disney Plus) with audio description, The Dinosaurs: S1E2 (Netflix) with audio description, Jury Duty Presents: Company Retreat: S1E1 (Amazon) with audio description, DTF: St Louis: S1E3 (HBO MAX) with audio description, and Tracker: S3E8 (Paramount Plus) with audio description

Daredevil- The whole prison breakout sequence was very well described, and still no Punisher/Jessica Jones for those who are on the lookout.

The Dinosaurs- This nature-hybrid continues to give us a broad glimpse at the Dinosaur experience. This is more for people who want to know about the broad concept of Dinosaurs, and less about describing every individual species. I love how none of this footage is real, but Morgan Freeman is super committed to the created stories within. This is all based on theory about how these dinosaurs moved, and acted.

Company Retreat- The Jury Duty spinoff feels staged. They even have a clip from the beginning of the guy being pranked saying he thinks it’s a show. Then again, they have to openly address the use of a documentary crew following them, which I would have immediately questioned, especially given the behavior. Not a ton of room for AD, but it does try when it can.

DTF St Louis- I wish I liked this show more. I can see it wants to do something unique, but I just don’t like the execution. It’s probably my least favorite Jason Bateman performance, at least in recent years. The AD is fine though.

Tracker- Colter heads to help another PI buddy find his missing partner, which leads to a dark path revolving around a contract killer everyone thought was dead. It ends on a cliffhanger, so it is a two parter. The AD here was reliably solid.
