The small Screen Diaries: 04/06/26

If you’re a fan… FOX picked up Memory of A Killer for a second season.

TV Shows Watched: Star Wars: Maul: Shadow Lord: S1E1 (Disney Plus) with audio description,The Count Of Monte Cristo: S1E3 (PBS) with audio description, Ghosts: S5E5 (Paramount Plus) with audio description, Finding Her Edge: S1E4 (Netflix) with audio description, and Hijack: S2E7 (Apple) with audio description

Maul: Shadow Lord- The weird thing is, I think this show had excellent audio description, but when it comes to Maul and his actual skin color/tattoo hybrid thing he’s got going on, I’m not sure it mentioned the color combination he has, yet thre was a green alien, so I know it isn’t skipping stuff like that. We got yellow eyes, metal teeth, but I don’t remember it mentioning the red/black thing he has going on.If you think all animated shows are for kids, I’d say this one is playing a bit older, so not for young kids. Fans have wanted a Darth Maul movie or series forever, and this is what you get. It has Andor vibes. It clearly has Maul working toward a goal, and it is smart enough to not explain it to you all at once. It also introduces a new character we seem to need to get to know, as she could be integral to the season. I liked it.

Count Of Monte Cristo- I feel like at times we’re moving a bit fast, but Edmund basically spends this episode learning what he missed in the last fifteen years, his father’s death, and his love marrying his enemy. He also finds the treasure, becoming the Count, and starting spinning the wheel that will be the revenge tour he’s about to get on.Media Access does some nice audio description.

Ghosts- I’m so far behind, this was the Thanksgiving episode. Ha. I love this series, and it is already renewed, so I didn’t need to give it my immediate attention. But one of the best comedies on TV.

Finding Her Edge- This light skating romance is not really my cup of tea, but fits a niche audience. Netflix is also sticking with it, having already renewed it for a second season. I wish it was better though. It is hard to say what vibes it even gives off, because it feels so hokey at times, like a blend of Hallmark with ABC Family?

Hijack- While I get what they want to do, I still argue the show has not justified the existence. Just because it worked the first time doesn’t mean it gets sequels. Not everything is John McLaine. This feels more like the “has fallen’ series. Only one thing ever needed to fall.

Say Something!
