The Testaments- It isn’t as instantly iconic as The Handmaid’s Tale, but it is pretty damn good, especially for anyone who wanted closure from the flagship series but couldn’t get it because of The Testaments. The series centers on Agnes (One Battle breakout Chase Infinity), who you may know as June’s daughter, the one she was unable to get out. So, she’s at a school of sorts for young women to be wives of commanders, as she has that privilege as a daughter (sort of) of a Commander. she’s assigned a Pearl (a girl from outside Gilihad), who shadows her to her chagrin, assigned by Aunt Lydia, who now has more power than before (and the statues to prove it). the end of the episode has a BIG surprise for Handmaid’s fans. The AD here was pretty great, especially in the gorier moments, like the dead bodies hanging on display with birds pecking at the flesh, and the dismemberment that happens in the episode, along with some accompanying vomiting. They also do mention that Agnes is biracial, which is important for you to remember whose parents are really hers. Fans of Handmaid’s should like this.

The Boys- I always love the weird shit the AD team has to describe, like the supe with the giant penis, and how that is utilized, or Worm and how his powers work. I’m glad the series is back, and if you don’t want spoilers, watch this fast, because it is the final season, and anyone is expendable. This season premiere emphasizes that, with a major cast exit.

The Night Agent- I feel like Chelsea’s thing is going to be possibly more important than Peter’s and somehow link together. Chelsea and her investigation into the man supposedly trying to kill the First Lady starts to take off, as Peter also reluctantly starts accepting help from his new partner. Excellent audio description.

Sheriff Country- Picking up where the last episode left off, the Sheriff’s department loses control over the town when the locals rise up, and I wonder how this will change dynamics moving forward. Already renewed for next season.

The Hunt- Dubbed, French thriller about a group of guys coming to terms with something from their past. I’ve lamented before about Melanie Laurent being dubbed, and me not being able to appreciate her performance, as a fan of hers. Otherwise, this is a solid and engaging series, with unnerving twists.

virgin River- I need my Muriel to have more to do. That character always gets shortchanged. Other than that, Doc is being investigated by some bullshit, Mel is considering adopting, Jack REALLY wants to go to Italy, Charmaine is super fucking missing, Hope tries to force the council to do her bidding, Preacher introduces new food to the menu, Lizzie is still pregnant, a proposal is denied, and a new mystery man enters, with a potentially shady past. It is everything I assumed it would be. The AD is exactly what it has been for six previous seasons.

Say Something!
