I so rarely get TV news. Two stories in one day! First, Deadline has reported that the Emmy Awards are moving from September to an undetermined date in January. This means while other shows will likely be rewarding the current seasons of shows like The Bear and Only Murders in The Building, the Emmys are still rewarding the past earlier seasons. It’s Way Too Early: The Best Picture Contenders

This years race is certainly shaping up. We likely have seen at least 1 Best Picture nominee already, probably three or four. if the strike continues, that list will only grow. Already, there is a rumor mill around Dune part 2 shifting to 2024. Not being able to take the stars to Comic Con hurt, as Dune isn’t really a festival film. We have some news finally out of comic con. In The Walking Dead Universe, The Walking Dead: Dead City and Daryl Dixon both have gotten second season pickups. Meanwhile, Amazon was able to run a promo for the upcoming second season of Invincible, and Peacock showed off the upcoming John Wick spinoff The Continental, which was originally being developed at Starz.
