The WGA is attempting to sit down and begin talks again, and we shall see how that progresses. I just saw some encouraging news for fans of Twisted Metal. The debut of that series (which I will start soon) is considered to be Peacock’s most watched comedy original thus far. So if you wanted a second season, there’s a good chance. I shall predict that the whole thing we aren’t liking about how streaming services are pulling content will be far more common place after the strike is settled, and some of those shows they have to start paying residuals on. While I watch these older shows, I can’t help but think how much better they would be with audio description, and I want a world where we also prioritize the back catalog of TV shows as well as films. Well, the WGA didn’t end up going back to the table after all. So the strike is still on. i truly believe these studios refuse to budge on AI, and the guilds can’t afford to, because they understand once they allow it in the door contractually it will start putting people out of work. I did a two hour interview on audio description yesterday, and i still had time to watch all of this plus a movie. Plus, there’s actual TV news to talk about! Amazon has renewed The Summer i Turned Pretty for a third season, while Apple plus will not be moving forward with City on Fire. RIP Paul Reubens. Such an unexpected blow. For a lot of people my age, he really helped to shape our childhoods. His Playhouse was a magnificent ball of fun, and his movies certainly were head scratchers for critics, but not kids.
