Not a ton of new TV news, but I did see that MAX is slating Season 3 of And Just Like That for 2025. A couple of things. It’s like these companies were waiting for the strike to end to start their bad behavior. Immediately following news of the strike ending, Warner Bros celebrated by totally and permanently shelving Coyote Vs Acme, another finished feature project, and using it as a tax write-off. Dancing With The Stars certainly took the magic of Disney night to max corporate synergy. Meanwhile, some top Hollywood talent are meeting with the SAG negotiations to see what’s up. Looks like iCarly is going away again as paramount Plus has axed the reboot after 3 seasons. Finally! Some TV news. I don’t know which is bigger. Lando has been elevated from a Disney plus series to a full fledged movie, so you can no longer expect it to come to Disney Plus (until after its theatrical run), and Netflix has picked One Piece up for a second season. The latter is kinda of a big deal considering their past anime adaptations haven’t made it to a second season (RIP Cowboy Bebop). I wonder what social media is going to do to all the actors who wrote in letters of support for Danny Masterson. It’s not a great look right now for several of his former cast mates, as well as some random names like Giovanni Ribisi and Jonathan Tucker. i think what is truly telling is that not all of the cast did write letters. I forgot Spectrum was Charter, so watching the people in my Facebook feed complaining about not being able to watch their games yesterday was fun. Hilariously, they all blamed Spectrum, and not ESPN.
