The Crow

The Crow (2024)- Don’t Just Push Out remakes Unless You Have A Fresh perspective Quick Take: Thank God, Bill Skarsgard is also in Nosferatu this year. This is a career killer. This is one of the most incompetent efforts of the year, made by a director who likely will never be handed a budget higher than “we’re trying to get on Tubi” ever again. It is such a weird thing, to think that no one stopped at any point and notice how awful this film actually is. Lionsgate dropped some massive bombs in the second half, and this is by … Continue reading The Crow

Boy Kills World

Boy Kills World- A Bloody Good Time Bill Skarsgard situated himself with three movies in 2024. One of them isn’t good. This is not that one. This is, thankfully, a bloody good time at the movies. The plot is fairly simple, following a lot of the same revenge laden films we’ve gotten since John Wick made everyone realize the importance of their pets, which now has taken on an almost comedic tone. Nobody, starring Bob Odenkirk, certainly started to lean the genre in that direction, but Boy Kills World goes full on graphic violence, while maintaining a very obvious tone … Continue reading Boy Kills World

John Wick Chapter 4

Where I Watched it: ITunes/VOD English Audio Description Provided By Deluxe Narrated By Jedidiah Barton this might be the most audio description for a film ever. Granted, there are other movies where the audio description is non-stop, but this is also a long movie, tipping the scales at 2 hrs 45 minutes. And, they make sure to pack this film with action set piece after action set piece. After all, this is very likely the conclusion to this particular series, as they seem far more interested in spinoffs, like Peacock’s upcoming The Continental, or next summer’s ballerina. So, how does … Continue reading John Wick Chapter 4

Barbarian

Where I Watched It: HBo MAX English Audio Description Provided By: Deluxe Narrated By: William Michael Redmond I think for a lot of people whether or not they choose to watch Barbarian is a personal choice. I think some people might have heard about, or gotten some spoilers thrown their way that have led them to have an idea of whether or not this is the film for them. And, I think that’s totally valid. As creative as Zach Cregger’s horror title is, it also gets that recognition for a very particular reason. It’s the film I casually refer to … Continue reading Barbarian
