The Too Much TV Roundup- 07/15/23

Your fall TV lineup from the networks looks really different. Lots of game shows, reality shows, and non-scripted programming, plus content from the international market. 9) Dinosaurs (Disney Plus) English Audio Description?: No Status: Ended I’m into the second season now. Junior ends up at his dad’s worksite. Will his dad’s boss eat him? These are the deep questions. Episode Grade: B- 8) Dave (FX) English Audio Description?: Yes Status: Not Yet renewed Also forever known as the Brad Pitt episode, this episode was so bizarre, but Brad Pitt’s level of commitment to this episode made it something else. Hearing … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 07/15/23

I always enjoy being able to drop some TV knowledge at the top. Freeform has cancelled The Watchful Eye and Single Drunk Female. Neither one of these had audio description. So, no love lost. 16) Clone High (MAX) English Audio Description?: Yes Status: Rumored To Have Been A Two Season Order This was tough to declare a loser on a day where I managed 16 different episodes, but as Clone High continues to underdeveloped the new characters and keep them as far away from their original non-clones as possible, it really makes you wonder what the point of all this … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 06/30/23

Yesterday, I had the awesome opportunity to attend a panel at the American Concil of the Blind’s virtual conference presented by the Audio Description Project that featured reps from the major streaming services, all of whom came to talk about just how committed they are, without actually putting a number on that commitment. I’m committed to cleaning my room. When? How often? I’m committed. So I didn’t watch as many shows. But on the plus side, hulu is moving forward with a second season of nine Perfect Strangers, which should be fun since they already used all the strangers from … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 06/22/23

Well, NBC has opted to not renew American Auto after all. Looks like a solid victim of the writers strike, as they needed to either extend contracts at the end of the month, or cancel. However, MAX is sticking with Velma. 15) The Adventures Of The Gummi Bears (Disney Plus) English Audio Description?: No Status: Ended Consistently ranking low, this nostalgic trip hasn’t quite worked out. This was the 7th episode, and I’m trying to get at least 10 in so i have that fully revived memory. This one was mostly about adopting an abandoned wolf cub. Episode Grade: C … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 06/16/23

Well, talk about yesterday being a slow news day. Like, nothing major or earth shattering happened. It was just a regular day. If I pulled some news out, just a sliver of news, I guess I could say that I realized the second season of Swagger drops at the end of the month. 10) Dave (FX/Hulu) English Audio Description?: Yes Honestly, i feel like after that music video episode, Dave hasn’t been able to quite hit that level of perfection in the subsequent two episodes. That episode was something else. Episode 4 was just boring. Episode Grade: C 9) Young … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 06/08/23

I watched something on the same day it got picked up for another season. This proves that shows can still be picked up during the writers strike, so I’d love it if ABC could go ahead and pick up Home Economics (and make Casey Wilson a series regular), and NBC can pick up American Auto. That’s really all I need. 14) Clone High Original (MAX) English Audio Description?: No Status: Revived Still going back through the original episodes, and the second one revives around running for class president, and Abe versus JFK. I get that there’s this Afterschool Special vibe … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 06/01/23

Yesterday provided ample TV news. NBC announced their fall lineup, which included a Season 2 renewal for Lopez V Lopez, and has left its remaining sitcoms (American Auto, Young Rock, and Grand Crew) on the bubble. NBC also surprisingly revived Transplant with a 2 season order (since the series comes from Canada), and pushed LaBrea’s tiny third (and likely final) season to mid season. Meanwhile, The CW surprisingly rescued cancelled AMC drama 61st Street. I’m not sure why. I’m not sure anyone was asking for that. But this is the new CW, and by God, they will be irrelevant in … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 05/12/23
