After The Other Two dropped their big bomb yesterday, Reservation Dogs followed them with the exact same announcement, that the 3rd season will be it’s last. I remember when most shows wanted to hit season 4 because it put syndication into play, but with shows no longer running 22 episode seasons, there’s no need for that. Reservation Dogs would need nine seasons to get to that point. Also, ABC is sticking with Home Economics a little bit longer. Before my TV news, I have to say that I always enjoy looking at the list of who has just been offered an Academy voting membership each year. To me, there’s always some hilarious comparison of someone who is obviously getting it really early, versus someone who has somehow flown under the water. And in the continuing saga of the paramount Purge, Paramount’s decision to murder inside Amy Schumer in cold blood has caused Comedy Central to scrap plans to have a cable run of the 5th season of the show. Paramount Plus is purging again. This time, I won’t be burned by saying everything has already been removed. The biggest cancellation/removal is Inside Amy Schumer. The rest are some documentaries, Paramount Plus original movies (Snow Day and Fantasy Football), and a bunch of Nickelodeon shows, only two of which I had even heard of. I happened to stumble on a show I’ve been checking semi-frequently on audio description, and I found out that Yellowjackets (Season 1) now has AD. this was a show I had started, but didn’t finish. I’m starting over on it. A couple of things. First, I have not properly given a shoutout to Tubi, which is now offering a select number of titles with audio description. This is their first month, and they already have surpassed AMC Plus. Hah. I do plan on watching something from them soonish to support their new offerings, and give a review on how easy it is to access it. Yesterday, i did attend another panel at the American Council Of The Blind’s virtual conference, this one on TTS audio description. I still squeezed in a lot of shows, because it was shorter, and most of these are half hour shows. Also, in TV News! Melissa McBride has reportedly rejoined the Daryl/Carol spinoff, instead of taking a break. or maybe she just didn’t need a long break. Yesterday, I had the awesome opportunity to attend a panel at the American Concil of the Blind’s virtual conference presented by the Audio Description Project that featured reps from the major streaming services, all of whom came to talk about just how committed they are, without actually putting a number on that commitment. Where I Watched it: Disney plus English Audio Description?: yes Sometimes, with streaming films there is a vibe that they were either picked up at a festival, or at least developed with the intention of possibly going theatrical. Prey is a great example of this. It truly had a cinematic feel, despite debuting on Hulu. Today, i plan on attending a virtual conference held by the ACB and the Audio Description project, in which I will get to hear representatives from streaming services talk about their commitment to Audio Description. Well, in a shocking turn of events, HBO is in talks to license some of its original content to Netflix. i have to believe that these are the lower tier titles. It’s actually not that weird. True Blood is on Hulu. So, if Netflix starts running Boardwalk Empire, Carnivale, or Six Feet under anytime soon, you’ll know why.
