Best Of 2023: Ensembles In A Comedy Series

Another celebration of the best of 2023. Since shows can’t be trusted to actually stay Limited, I’ve just rolled them into what I either interpret as Comedy or Drama. Kinda like the Globes. All of these shows have audio description except one, and its first season had audio description. Well, in TV news, John Oliver inked a 3 year renewal for Last Week Tonight with HBO. The Traitors: UK is nearing a premiere date. Someone marvelous won Dancing With The Stars. The Critics Choice nominations were so interesting for the TV nominees this year. Ramon Rodriguez slid in for Will Trent over more obvious performers like Brian Cox for Succession. The actresses nominated for Fall Of the House Of usher would not have been my go to nominees. It’s very sad that Mark Hamill was snubbed for that series. I doubled my intake of shows from Monday. The big TV show news is that Amazon is developing a Spanish Language/Mexico version of The Boys, pretty much cementing it as their biggest franchise. Sorry, Middle-Earth fans, but once you pick up an animated spinoff, a second spinoff featuring younger characters, and then a Spanish language version… we’ll talk. Well, I said, and I’ll say it again, the post-strike cancellation wave is still bashing us. It likely will take a break for Turkey Day, but not before Disney Plus could axe The Muppets Mayhem. In fact, on the film side, rumor has it that they are trying to sell off The Bike Riders. I didn’t see any major cancellations, although I did see some huge ratings for not Dead yet on ABC. I feel like that’s going to be bad news for home Economics, though I hope it leads to ABC finally allowing themselves to part ways with The Goldbergs. What decade is that show even in anymore? At least one of these was the final episode. but, was that final episode enough to put it on top?
