I didn’t see any major cancellations, although I did see some huge ratings for not Dead yet on ABC. I feel like that’s going to be bad news for home Economics, though I hope it leads to ABC finally allowing themselves to part ways with The Goldbergs. What decade is that show even in anymore? At a certain point, they’re going to have to start their episodes with “Back in the 90’s”….
6) Dead To Me (Netflix)
English Audio Description?: Yes
Maybe it’s just me, but i wanted more from the series finale. I wanted more from the third season. It felt a little like the third season of Locke and Key did to me, where they had to rush to conclude the show, and three seasons was never the plan. Here, I totally understand and sympathize with the reasoning, but while Locke and key managed to stick an emotionally resonant ending, I wasn’t moved by Dead To Me. Sorry, sports fans. The cast is very talented, but compared to the first two seasons, the third one is a little meh.

5) National Treasure: Edge Of Sanity (Disney Plus)
English Audio Description?: Yes
This one was a bit of a toss up, between National Treasure and Dead To Me. I suppose Treasure had some more “Damn!” Moments than it usually does. People getting shot in a Disney Plus series is not something you’d expect. I’m sure the deaths were bloodless, but it surprised me every time.I’ve gotten to the point where I wouldn’t mind if Jess and a few of her friends stuck around for a second season, but we have to let the adults go, bring back Justin Bartha full time, and fix this nonsense. I’m fairly certain this is the worst performance of Catherine Zeta Jones’s career. She never seems like she actually even wants to be there, and delivers all her lines with the same amount of verve as the last.

4) East New York (CBS/Paramount Plus)
English Audio Description?: Yes
You know, i surprisingly have enjoyed the first season of this show. I like the cast. i like the stories. it avoids being a straight procedural, allowing for some linear storytelling, rewarding viewers who watch every episode. This show has no chance in hell of coming back. CBS has renewed almost its entire lineup for next season, minus NCIS Los Angeles which it is finally letting die in Season 14. Technically, Blue Bloods and SWAT remain, though Blue Bloods is in the Top 5 for CBS, an SWAT just had its highest rated season. They won’t be dropping either of those. True Lies still has to debut, and then there’s the thought process of pilots for next season. So, if you’re asking me if I think theres a world where East New York is on CBS next fall? I’m telling you that we are not in the right multiverse for that.
Episode Grade: B+
3) Doom Patrol (HBo MAX)
English Audio Description?: Yes
As they sucked the life force or whatever from the final two Patrol members, I keep being reminded of how many risks this show takes, and I can’t believe that James Gunn is letting it die. They were just in a world where there was paper, and they figured out if they drew things on paper, they became real, and they created a giant robot. Like, what? There are so many things in every episode that are head scratchers, but that’s why I love it. However, I know Brendan Fraser’s career is on the rise again, and I honestly don’t think I’d be able to watch this without him. I’d try, but i can tell it wouldn’t be the same. I’ve stopped other shows for the same reason, because they let the wrong actor go.

2) 911 Lone Star (FOX)
English Audio Description?: No
This show made me so angry this week. When Marshawn was brought in and Strand was sitting right there and they were seriously asking her to do all of this, and he’s just like “how is this guy not in jail?”, I was asking myself the same thing. What kind of lawsuit would they have? Shouldn’t the people whose lives he put in danger be able to sue him because they didn’t “feel safe”?I know it’s just fictional writing, but thank Jesus i wasn’t in that room. I was in a bad mood all day. That’s why I put this show so damn high today, even without audio description, is because I still feel like taking to social media to save the career of a fictional firefighter. I’m in too deep. Too invested. I need to start a GoFundMe for a relaxing weekend at a spa. Hah.

1) Kaleidoscope (Netflix)
English Audio Description?: Yes
Violet was so heartbreaking. I hope this is Giancarlo Esposito’s FYC episode, because damn. I think, knowing what I already know, i would recommend people start with violet. If you don’t, then you are more aware of wath is about to happen. I’d already seen him in jail, and his reunion with Hannah, so going back 24 years to this moment, seeing his wife being called into work, I just had this terrible feeling. But that last scene between him and Hannah, show me where you’re strong, wrecked me. Great writing, but if you haven’t started watching yet, Violet has to be first.
